18:32 yeah no that’s facts. I had to learn that the hard way, bro. Search and destroy you gotta have in mind What your hearing that you don’t like before you do it. Can’t just go around and search it for bullshit. Would you just go and hate on a random person?
A GREAT TIP that i use alot for eq IS LOCATION he didnt really touch on this so i wanted to give yall a little sauce to.. EQ can reallly affect the location of something for an example high frequencies can have a vertical affect on a sound more high end = Higher.. less = lower.. Low frequencies can also affect vertical location BUT it can also affect closeness an example we all know is the proximity affect. the closer something gets the more low end.. but one thing i notice is when i take low frequencies out it can have a similar vertical raise like boosting high frequencies will. now for mid frequencies its usually Front to back.. or back to front.. you can bring something forward or u can push something back... Side note * if you guys have ever heard of the studies done on external vs internal focus on perfomance you should look that up* BUT when eqing focusing on location your using an External focus.. Your basically focusing on the effect your actions have on something instead of focusing on something like how ur ears feel or your opinions of a sound for an example * this sounds brighter or this sounds duller blah blah.. So u can actually come out with a much better mix with an external focus like Location of a sound*.
Bro it's hard to pay attention to the tutorial when I can hear the other people in the background even though they are not in the room it's that hustle& Flow affect like in the movie otherwise good video but I'm 38 with a pair of beats studio buds I was able to pick that up
I like this video bro and the one before about compression. However I have a question like what you said about the little nodges with eq. I understand what you are saying but why does engineers like Teezio still use this method? In a lot of YouTube video’s you see that he use this method but why though?
