louis smiled during the joint question because there was a scandal about a video of him and zayn smoking weed

I always thought 1d got very lucky ending up with Michael McIntyre as the other guest on this one. He seemed to know exactly where to jump in when tension started to build, especially with the Zayn question. You can sense the relief from the band at certain points where he took the attention off of them.

The official reason for Zayn's leaving was his mental health and I'm sure it was in some ways but just recently Zayn said in the interview that he left the band because he selfishly wanted to be the first to leave and make his own record. He saw - like he said - "certain people were doing certain things, certain people didn't want to sign contracts". So he knew the band was done at this point.

Never tired of your love for Louis!

Yeah, Louis and Zayn did smoke joint together. He lied here 🤭

Comedian Michael McIntyre added a lot of lightness and humor to this interview and made it much more enjoyable for Harry, especially.  The Jonathan Ross Show actually began with a segment between Jonathan and Michael discussing Zayne (there are signs everywhere saying 'don't mention Zayne').  It was nice that Liam was so relaxed and talkative in this interview.  I loved the way Harry felt he could turn to Michael to take the pressure of dealing with the issue of Zayne and other intrusive questions.

Louis admits that he still smokes a joint nightly  it relaxes him

the made in the am album , the last one they made is the best one, great songs, plus they all wrote lyrics for it; they never toured the album which is sad af but yeah, this album is amazing, it really couldve won a grammy. you guys should listen to it.
what i do know is that the day they will come back, the world will forget about the rest of the artist and bands and the internet will collapse. their come back will be huge.

It's so sad because Harry knew they weren't coming back and knew for almost a year before that he was going to continue solo, (and the rest of the boys, especially Louis, thought it was really a break!) and yet he confirmed that They come back! I wish they told us... i mean, we deserved a goodbye 😭😭😭

There was a video where Zyan and Louis smoked weed and they got in trouble, lol. Also, Louis did come out with a documentary about how he hated they split up when they did. The last album he wrote a lot of songs and finally started to feel confident in his role. So he really really didn’t want to end it and thats part of the reason him ans Zyan got into their feud. But he's admitted since it was best for them all so they could discover themselves as independent artists and health.

Michael is so nice and in this interview he was so protective to the boys al the negative things he put the view on himself

This interview is hilarious! I also love the interviews from Grahams show and Alan Carr (Chatty mann). ❤😂

Pretty sure for a while it was Harry. You can tell by on stage interactions.  MITAM was definitely their best album.  They didn't tour their last album. They did various shows and sang some of their new songs, such as Apple Music Festival, various talk shows, and the 1D thing with Corden.

This was great guys. This is by far my favorite interview with 1D. I’ve always thought Michael McIntyre kind of felt the need to jump in with the jokes to take the pressure off the boys when he saw fit and he did an excellent job of it. He’s hilarious anyway! Thanks so much for doing this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Keep shining my guys✨

They knew…they performed some of the AM songs live on different TV appearances. Louis was the one who thought they would get back together. He explains in his doco/movie, ‘All of these voices.’ That’s why it took him awhile to kick start his solo.
Zayn explained in a recent interview, he was competitive and he wanted to be the first to leave and release his own music. They were upset because he left mid tour.

The second half of that tour when Zayn left was a lot more high energy and there was like a rejuvenation of the band - they were a bit closed down and going through the motions before. They said in some interviews themselves that having to come together to make the tour work without him only made them better. So it's too bad they didn't tour the last album, but understandable with having gone non-stop for five years!

About your question about their 5th album 'Made in the AM'. I looked it up,
And these are the statistics:

2,095,000, Up All Night (2012)
2,043,000, Take Me Home (2012)
1,552,000, Midnight Memories (2013)
1,064,000, Four (2014)
853,000, Made in the A.M. (2015)

So yeah Made in the A.M. did have a huge decline most it of it must be because of Zayn leaving and some because their sales were declining anyway. I waS surprised to see that their 1st album sold the most and then the sales kind of kept falling. Also their first 4 albums debuted at no. 1 on Billboard (they were the first band ever to do so) and the last album was no. 2. But that i think that is mostly because the competition was tough, Justin Bieber released his album 'Purpose' on the same day. In any other situation they would have easily debuted at no. 1. Kind of sad because  it broke their no. 1 album streak.

Except this the album did have 2  singles that were no. 1 in UK and in the top 10 in the US. And honestly, this album is great !!! It is the most mature and is definitely one of the fan favourites.

P.S. when are guys going to react to Niall's new album ? I have really been  looking forward to seeing your reactions

In 2025 interviews 😢Louis said he was so hurt that Zayn  left the band.  They were very close and shared a dressing room. They smoked weed after concerts.  Louis thinks Zayn didn’t say anything to him because Louis might have tried to get him to stay

I see the ghost of One Direction will be following you until the day you die. Who knew I wielded such power :-)

Harry asks for the hiatus before the end of the 4th album tour and it's accepted. Harry had asked for a break in 2014 and they had denided and after zayn left he just did not want to continue anymore.
