Betacam SP tapes can be used in Extended Definition Betamax VCRs, as ED Beta also uses metal particle tape. They're probably way easier to get than actual ED Beta cassettes.
Sony made an amusing playback-only VCR called the BVW-22. It was designed to be a cheap, easy to use unit for an office, and has no features and only a composite output.
This one is actually a Betacam SP videocassette player. The PVW-2650 is also a videocassette player, so yeah. Same said for other Sony Betacam SP editing and broadcast VTPs BVW-60, BVW-65, UVW-1200 and UVW-1600. The recorders, on the other hand, were PVW-2800, BVW-70, BVW-75, BVW-D75, UVW-1400, UVW-1700G and UVW-1800. So, in total, the number of editing and broadcast VTR and VTPs that were made for Sony's Betacam SP format were 15.
hi there is still alot around in the uk that needs care to get them running i have alot of decks got to be the many in one place ever i had all the rent out decks that were in one place had 2 eu pallets of them i know there was alot in the uk that was sold on ebay it was a mix of makes of formats i buy as i fix them
This, unlike the PVW-2650 editing VTP and PVW-2800 editing VTR, doesn't have the Dynamic Motion Control function, the Insert and Assemble buttons, preview and auto edit buttons, a couple switches (except the timecode, remote and local switches) and the record, player, recorder and variable buttons whatsoever.
First, this isn't a video cassette recorder, this is a video cassette player (or VCP for short, uncommon), but more of an editing videotape player (VTP for short). Second, the Sony PVW-2600 and BVW-60 doesn't have dynamic track following at all. Third, the dynamic track following feature is seen on the Sony BVW-65, BVW-70, BVW-75, BVW-D75, PVW-2650 and PVW-2800. And fourth, the PVW and UVW series of Betacam SP videotape machines (same said for the Sony J-3, J-10, J-H3 (HDCAM) and J-30 compact players) only offer linear audio tracks 1 and 2, and not both the linear audio tracks 1 and 2 and FM audio tracks 3 and 4. The BVW series of Betacam SP videotape machines and all of the Digital Betacam, Betacam SX, HDCAM, MPEG IMX and HDCAM SR videotape machines all have both linear and AFM audio tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4, plus the cue track.
