This 'new' BP regulation is only advantageous to the pharmaceutical industry.

As an Optometrist I’m aware of the fact that significantly reduced blood pressure leads to low blood perfusion to the optic nerve resulting in glaucoma. Physicians need to be careful about lowering their patients blood pressure too aggressively. I’ve seen many patients develop glaucoma in the face of normal eye pressure but very low blood pressure.

Something that is so alarmingly is the food menu's in  hospitals.  Everything is in seed oil, full  of sugar, sweet pudding, +bread. Starch with every meal. It is unbelievable.And it is worse in the state hospitals

Thank you SO much for ALL your videos!!!!  I'm so glad Dr. Peter mentioned 150/90 as an acceptable blood pressure for an older person..... I am 77 years old and monitor my pressure thru the day.... It can vary widely, but I can say that 150/90 is an average reading that I get.   I'm working on applying all the advice you have given..... I basically feel well and prefer to NOT take medications.... I'm SO heartened to see a new breed of Doctors as we enter this 'new Golden Age' on the earth!!!! ❣

Most Dr offices don’t even take blood pressure correctly, how can we depend on them to define high blood pressure under those circumstances?

A Midwestern Doctor has published on this Substack channel, The Forgotten side of Medicine, a very in-depth article about blood pressure and the problems with lowering it too low with medication. In the article is a fascinating chart/diagram that shows, conclusively, that the lower the pressure is treated to, in older adults, the sooner they die. The higher it goes, to a point, naturally, without medication,  the longer the life span. This study only involved older adults. Everyone needs this information.  This constant lowering of the blood pressure from systolic should be 100, plus your age,  down to 140/90, to 130/80, to now 120/80, is only for the benefit of the pharmaceuticals, and in my opinion, is downright criminal.  One size does not fit all!

One year ago at age 71, I went on a solo  month long road trip in my camper van visiting National Parks in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota.
Toward the end of my trip I twisted my knee. It was painful but I managed and figured it would get better with time as it has before. After I was home a few weeks it became increasingly difficult to walk. MRI showed Bilateral torn meniscus. I was scheduled for surgery but my overall  condition continued to decline. I went to PCP for a pre-op exam. I had been SOB for several weeks but attributed it to the stress and pain. I was in Afib. I also was found to have a UTI. Surgery was postponed. I did convert to Normal Sinus Rythym on my own. After surgery I bounced back slowly. The knee pain continued to keep me sedentary. My blood pressure remained high so now I'm on 3 BP meds. Then when I thought I was doing better, I had severe case of vertigo that lasted a week and balance issues that lasted another month. Then I  got bad case of shingles on my leg involving three dermatomes. Still having nerve pain especially in my knee.
All that to say, I was beginning to think I would have to sell my camper and give up traveling the US. Your content especially

This retired ICU nurse is encouraging you to LISTEN to these brilliant doctors here!  From personal experience, my new gerontology Dr. tried to tell me “ no such thing as “white coat syndrome”, tried to insist I take statins for ONE borderline cholesterol, which was lowered with diet, lifestyle changes.  And hi dose BP meds exhausted me, made me dizzy, a nightmare.  He insists BP. should be LOW.  We bat heads.   I am so disappointed in some Drs.  
  Scary is that many people do not know, just do anything without question & suffer consequences.   Knowledge is power! I do my own thing, listen to my body, and I monitor my BP qd.  At a healthy, active 79 years, wt. wnl, my BP runs great at high 130’s or even 140 over slightly fluctuating 80’s!  I can function normally with this.   My lipoprotein  is excellent, my numbers, calcium screening, excellent.   I think they are pushing dangerous meds with bad side effect potential, falls, etc.  Listen to these three combination, knowledgeable, physicians.   I also watch my pulse pressure numbers.  Excellent.  
    You have a right to participate in your plan of care, refuse, ask why, ask for alternative things like lifestyle changes.   These Drs. are amazing.

My friend Is on 2 high blood pressure meds - she said her bp was 124/57 this morning- she shared her fear that this was too low.

Having checked my BP over a 2 week period a few months ago, at random times of the day, the average was 134/68. Excellent as far as I am concerned,  but was told the ideal would be for it to be lower ~ and meds could help! 😡

I am overweight, but am eating a healthy diet, exercising (adding extras on to my daily schedule as we speak) ~ doing all the right things but oh no, not according to the GP!! And it is on my medical record that I started my journey towards improving my overall health and wellbeing at the start of this year, so it's not just a sudden whim. I am clearly serious about this, and totally invested in being the best all round version of myself that I can be.
Even when I insisted I want to take care of my health naturally, without any drugs, that avenue was not followed up on, by asking me about my diet, exercise, mental wellbeing etc.
If my BP is "high" ~ which it isn't ~ then my question to the medics is then what is the CAUSE and teach me how I can deal with it!!
It's BLATANTLY obvious I am overweight (albeit I have already lost a significant amount) so just with a simple observation that would have been all good place to start ~ even in the extremely inadequate 10 minute time slot we're allocated for a GP appointment in the UK .
Thankfully I am a very alert,  wide awake and very determined  71 year old, I do my own research, am fully invested in my physical and mental wellbeing, and will NOT take any drugs unless I believe they are actually necessary. Currently on zero drugs having weaned myself off of  everything over the past 5 years (under supervision of a pharmacist).
Thank you SO much to the 3 of you for caring as you do and particularly for  supporting and encouraging those  of us who are older towards optimal health and wellbeing. Your input truly is appreciated.

What really ticks me off is when I go to the doctors office I walk in the door sign in sit down and then they want to jerk me out of the chair and grab my blood pressure. Then right after I walk to the back of the office sit down they’re slapping the cuff on me. So if they try to do that to me, I usually tell the tech come back in five minutes. Then I’ll sit there and meditate until I get my heart rate back down to normal and my blood pressure where it should be. I’m 64 and my normal blood pressure is somewhere between 120-127/60-64.

In my days of EMS, we called a BP of 120/80 the Unicorn! 😅😅😅

Indeed, a lack of personalisation it is! For example:  Still dizzy from a heavy surgery, I got wheeled to a cardiologist in the hospital because I had very high BP that night. Irritated that she could not take an echo of my heart because of the bandages, she prescribed some BP medicine without even talking to me or asking me how I was doing. I was astonished.  I refuse to take this medicine without even exploring my personal circumstances. So now, a week after surgery, I am at home and following the overall advice of you doctors: stressmanagement, TRE eating, 10 minute walks after each meal and taking supplements suchs as omega 3, magnesium and potassium. Dr's office staff also rush you through the preleminaries. Yes, you just came in from traffic. If you're like me, and have had a number of negative experiences with doctors, your BP is always going to go up a bit. Then, they take you to the scales. Then briskly walk you to the BP statiin, and start pumping the very secind they get the cuff on, even though you just sat down and haven't even taken a breath. It is ridiculous. Most of the stuff primry doc freaks out over, Cardiologist is not concerned when the primary sends you for the consult. Same with cholesterol.

Refined sugar really is poison. If you have joint pain, cut out sugar and see if the pain goes away.

Italy here. Not only BP but many other indicators are considered too high in the past 25 years. Recently my doctor insists on prescribing bp pills to me. Every time she takes my bp it shows 135/65, I'm 60 y.o. and when asked why i should take those pills,  the answer is always... well you're 60... you need to start taking something for your bp...  By the way,  this is a common practice all over the country here. People have no more faith in the health system here. Everything got worse since we joined Europe, and actually got really bad after 2020.
