Few films have made me feel like Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. As a strange kid who loved horror but was equally easily scared, I found a film that managed to combine the macabre and gruesome with beauty and warmth. Time passes, and when you grow up, things aren't just "WHAT A GREAT MOVIE," they become "GET OUT OF THE WAY, VICTOR, I'M DOING EMILY'S."
But seriously, I think Corpse Bride is much deeper than it first appears; I'd almost say it's a cult classic today. Can love transcend death? Or do promises end when we stop breathing? Today at Musens, we're in our element because if there's one thing euphoria and I love, it's gothic romance.
