"You either die a villian, or live long enough to be a villain." The guy was never a good enough guy in the first place.

2:41 HAMMOND, YOU IDIOT! YOU REVERSED INTO THE STAR DESTROYER!

A republic hero being one of the rebellion's greatest recruiters makes sense.

I always hated how Ashoka saved his life then he later asked for the death sentence for her

why is allen the only youtuber that warns us the dangers of dolphins loosing checks and balances

Tarkin is one of my favorite villains in Star Wars

I still think when they made Rogue One they should have got Charles Dance to play Tarkin instead of CGI.

The interesting thing is that unlike a lot of other Imperials Tarkin wasn't actually some kind of anti-democratic demagogue, he was just someone to whom violence and strength was always the first and sometimes only option.

"Last time i was this early..." Is not a natural trend, youngsters, it's a megacorp trying to steer your behavior. Food for thought.

Very empire-like methodology come to think of it.

When you think about it, it makes sense that the Tarkin family found such prosperity by providing Security. Resources, such as ores, are finite while there will always be a need for Security.

The Death Star was a mistake AFTER it got blown up, not before.

If the Battle of Yavin had gone the other way, the galaxy would be literally tripping over each other to rat out any rebellion sympathizers. It's how the majority of the resistance movements in Europe got treated by the very people they're trying to liberate, as the Nazis tightened the thumbscrews just enough to make ratting them out the preferable option. With the Death Star in play, only the most fanatical would resist.

Should’ve left Tarkin back in the Citadel

Oh god a grand moth Clarkson would be such a DISASTER. Anyone who's watched Clarkson's farm knows he does first, thinks later 😂

It's perhaps pertinent to ask just how much Tarkin's outlook on politics and security was shaped by his relationship with Palpatine.  Palpatine after all was a master manipulator who secretly valued suffering and oppression almost as ends in themselves, since they gave him a galaxy-wide pool of Dark Side Force energy to work from.  When he met Tarkin he had already turned Dooku into a populist tyrant and was working on seducing Anakin; exploiting flawed men's weaknesses to turn them into monsters is well within his known skillset.  And remember at the end he had his eyes on Luke Skywalker for a similar purpose, so we can't say that every one of his targets was a bad person to begin with.

One of the Tarkins was responsible for the destruction of Uba III and poisoning the atmosphere of  Uba IV.

Tarkin letting those three Mon Cala ships go was another stupid move he did. And not tracking them down.

"Of power, I could tell you much. One must seize the moment, and strike." ―Wilhuff Tarkin

'You're either die a hero. Or you live long enough too see yourself become the villain..."

Tarkin reminds me of Tywin Lannister.

Both seem impressive at a distance. But scrutinise their achievements, and you realise how large their shortcomings really were.

Tywin ended up causing his own family’s downfall, and Tarkin ensured that the rebellion had more proverbial ammo than the Death Star itself in its war against the Empire with his addiction to atrocities.

Jeremy Clarkson would definitely be an imperialist for sure and make right hash of it with incompetent tom foolery! 😂😂😂
