Venerable Mungwang held a two-part Dharma talk and practical session on the topic of Hwadu meditation during the Seoul Relax Week, a practice program at the Buddhist Expo.

At a lecture held on March 25, Venerable Mungwang emphasized, "Debates such as 'Is Hwadu meditation right? Is Vipassana meditation right?' are meaningless. Samadhi (meditative absorption) is possible through anything—whether it be Ganhwa Seon, Vipassana, Yeombul Seon, or prostration practice. The problem is the lack of discerning practitioners with true insight."

The Venerable continued, "The practice to attain enlightenment can be likened to a journey from Seoul to Busan," adding, "Even if you give up after reaching Daejeon from Seoul, the results of the practice remain." He further stated, "The problem is giving up simply because the journey and scenery are similar."
