Louise Carmen is a scam like most brands that claim to sell luxury. The things that make a leather product luxury and high quality is the stitching which doesn’t exist in their products. Also, the leather thickness has to be full but they cut the top layer in three layers. The edge aren’t hand stitched and folded or burnished. The charms must cost them less than a dollar each. The zipper is shockingly low quality and isn’t brass or YKK. It should be custom at that price. Also, the bands are thin and not durable. The leather is dyed well but it needed to be much thicker the way true luxury would have been. The company realized that the stationary community would buy anything if you tell them it will run out or if you make them believe a stamp or pressing the leather with initials is customization worth the prices requested. It is shocking how easy it is to make people spend and have them thank you for making you overspend for a a very very unimpressive product.

I concur!!  I have purchased my own leather and cut it to size myself rather than pay the PR prices.

Important to me to have the elastic coming out of the spine and Not out of the center of the back cover!!

I fell in love with #1. It's €67,95 plus €12,29 for shipping to France. I looked for other alternatives, but now that I saw it...those rounded corners, those stitches and the navy blue (is one of my favourite colors)...OK...my birthday is in August...I'm in!!

By the way the items you have purchased are obviously high quality and I love the stitching and the consistency of the leather quality on the inside. I used to be a luxury buyer for a very high end store in NY and Dallas and I assure you what you have is better quality than the typical LC or PR.

A local artisan made me one in my choice of colour for 50€. It's beautiful and supports commerce in my city.

Good video and I totally agree that Paper Republic are very good , well made Journals but I think  are overpriced for what they are. I actually have 4 of them , 3 bought used and 1 direct from them . I also wanted the pen loop but charging £41 for it is shocking .
It seems putting Le in front of your  product means you can charge twice what it’s worth 😂

Great video, thank you Paulina.  I have been thinking about purchasing a leather journal, so perfect timing. I like the idea of my notebooks being contained in one folder, it feels like it would be very satisfying 📚🌟

I completely get your comments on being mindful of the budget and that PR prices are very high. But the quality is fantastic I have 3 one A4 Grand Voyager in red so energising for work, I have le trifold excellent quality but I don’t like the flap that much I still use it but not as my main cover this is why it will last lifetimes, but le portfolio I just love I have one in cognac for personal journal and one in black for work I love them both and use them daily. I have no regrets over the money as they give me joy every time I look at them and use them. I am very fortunate and grateful that I have them. But seriously I have not found another product that would give me the same quality. One thing that is annoying about PR is that they constantly are out of stock and in their store in Vienna you can see a lot of prototypes and colours that are not available for sale. Why show them if not available 😂 They are still underdeveloped as a business. Also I did not see a single person working there above the age of 27  perhaps apart from the CEO and I really do not like that about them. I also dislike that they made two models out of 3 as small as possible. Only le trifold is properly generous! Everything goes in it. But I wish they made the the same pockets as in le portfolio… so I don’t have pink glasses about them but I love the quality.

nice video! i wonder why nobody is mentioning that the pocket size PR doesnt fit any other notebooks from other brands because of its very specific measures. so you have to buy from them, which is crazy because they charge 12 euro for 2 small notebooks, 6 euro each! they try to sell luxury in a way and i get it, but it feels completely overcharged. Trying to put the small passport muji in my pocket size PR but it is much smaller.  ://

After going through the same process as you with paper Republic,  I did a huge amount of research before buying a made to measure from Nicola. She bent over backwards to help me, mak8ng 2 in the end. As a result? I'm about to buy my third cover from pupnik and have purchased other items. Absolutely will ALWAYS try and buy british and support small business ❤

Too many notebooks causes the notebooks to curve. I don’t want that.

Would love to know if you use them 6 months on and has the first one changed much or how the patina looks?  Down the rabbit hole of wanting one but not sure how much it will realistically get used and postage overseas is brutal.
