the masculine urge to sacrifice yourself to save your son

I had it together- until I realized the LAST thing Yondu does..is comfort his boy as he cries... that gentle pat...it did me in.

Ego: willing to sacrifice Peter for himself
Yondu: sacrificed himself for Peter
"He may have been your father, boy but he wasn't your daddy."

Long Live Yondu. The true Marry Poppins. 🫡

The most underrated part is that Chris Pratts dad had just passed away a short time before they did this scene. So his acting was from the heart for this scene

The whole scene is incredible. For me, it's when quill saying "no". Chris Pratt just conveyed so much emotion there.

I like to think that Yondu was, before he died, trying to tell Peter how proud of him he was.

R.I.P. Yondu Udonta. He was Peter Quill's daddy and the true Mary Poppins.🫡

Michael Rooker always plays the asshole you hate at first and becomes someone you love through a sacrifice lol it works cause we all love the dude

The moment shared between Yundu and Rocket prior to this solidified Yundu as one of the best characters in THE universe.

6:28 Pretty sure that, considering the size of a planet, having the ship right above them wouldn't have been luck... it would have been a miracle

RIP Yondu the best Mary Poppins in the marvel universe.

I think its so cool how yandu ferrying the kids to ego was what got him kicked as a ravager and saving quill  was ultimately what redeemed him in their eyes. and the fact yandu froze in space like the crew that was loyal to him nice little touch.

Michael Rooker needs to lead a show on netflix or something.

The song after this scene, really breaks my heart 😢🥹
Father and son by Cat Stevens. It always reminds me my beloved man, my daddy, my father.

This always gets me 😭

It takes seconds for the coldness of space to kill a regular human. In those last seconds if his lungs grasping for air, organs shutting down and skin freezing Yondu mustered up the strength to hold Peter's face as his last act.
This is some Grade A emotional writing top tier.

And rocket in guardians of the Galaxy are praying for him. I’m praying for him.

Youndu's character arc was beautiful to witness when I tell you I cried this scene was really touching
