Wow.  This was an amazing documentary!  Thank you for posting (and preserving) this quality production!

I saw Ms. Harris in “the belle of amherst “ in the mid 70’s , it has never left me! Emily Dickinson is an American crown jewel, she should be celebrated for her inability to lie. Brilliance, honesty and great wit were her gifts.

This was a treat. And Julie Harris, to boot! Thank you for posting.

Ms. Harris peak 70’s.  So beautiful.

Thanks for sharing this great documentary. The inimitable Julie Harris seems like the incarnation of Dickinson's spirit. Ms. Harris is almost sobbing when reciting Dickinson's works at 20:20.

Excellent documentary!

It is interesting to see in the credits that Ken Burns was assistant camera man, Buddy Squires camera man, and Roger Sherman on sound. These are most of the key founding members of Florentine Films. This is a very early work of Burns that is oddly not credited in Wikipedia bio. Some of the techniques, although crude in their infancy, used among Hampshire College chums are to be seen much further down the road in The Civil War PBS series.

Great video, thank you very much , note to self(nts) watched …… 28:45
