The Promise spoilers: Margarita returns to Captain Lorenzo de la Mata and says, "What if I told you I know your son's name and where he lives?" The illegitimate son the captain has always denied has a name, Benito Melendez, lives in Granada, and his mother receives a thousand pesetas a year. Then Margarita produces a photograph. The blackmail is simple: the secret remains a secret if the wedding to Angela is called off. That same evening, at dinner, in front of the entire family and Leocadia, the captain speaks: "I want to officially announce that I intend to break off my engagement to Angela."
In this video, I'll walk you through two entire episodes, from start to finish, scene by scene, using the words the characters actually say to each other.
In the video, you'll also find: the letter from the bishop that Father Samuel doesn't have the courage to open, and what's written when Petra reads it; Manuel goes to Leocadia with the fake Commander Rivero's written confession and offers her an honorable exit: leaving the palace in exchange for her silence; Leocadia confesses to Cristobal why she hired that impostor; the debt to Leocadia, which the Marquis and Manuel want to repay; Petra turns down the job as housekeeper; the oranges on the chicken dinner, and why that dish is an insult; Maria and Carlo decide to really give it a try; Martina, New York, and Don Pedro de Arteaga's party.
And as always, I'll also tell you the things these episodes DON'T say, without promising what isn't there: whether Leocadia will leave, why the captain will change his mind in a matter of hours, and whether he's really serious.
In Italy, these episodes will air on Rete 4 in the coming weeks.
