Most of us know what Blue chip art is but have any of us actually heard of Red Chip Art? Probably not, it's a new term, and I'm not sure it will actually be universally adopted. I hadn't heard either until I listened to a favorite podcast of mine, Art Tactic. On this episode Scott Rayburn a writer for Art Newspaper spoke about the differences between the two and the concerns he has among Red Chip Art.

Nice information. I agree with you that Amy Sherald is not Red but Blue Chip. She is represented by a top gallery, acquired by major museums and collectors, and she does not produce a lot of work. So the value on the primary market stays high and when her work appears on the auction market it our performs the estimate because it doesn’t happen often.

Thank you for the information. I have a question of who the best auction houses are to sell contemporary abstract wooden sculptures (made within the last 25 yrs). All about a foot tall. Thank you

Thankyou Moriah, its interesting about how money is made in the art market and its not me im strictly a painter. The art community seems to be very close knit and connected. Thankyou again for an interesting video.

You are of the very few who mentions Red Chip Art, I really like your video here, I feel less alone about the issue I am having with regard to my artwork being stolen,
at least I know what happened, it's a very complicated situation, I have a lot of evidence but it's not enough to concretely zero in on who I know did it.
I have to start an entirely new art business, I had 50 designs stolen since 2009.
