Unboxing a Harley PB Shorty bass guitar from Thomann.de to show how it's packaged for delivery. The video also looks at the weight of the bass, the balance/neck dive, and its overall length to see if it will fit in a standard electric guitar gig bag (given that it's a short-scale bass).

Filmed in a basement (bassment!).

Very helpful. Reviewers measuring the overall size of an instrument is rare, but much required in case of short scale because it's not uncommon they're a choice as a travelling instrument.
I considered this bass for a long time for the scale, price and possibly weight and size, but now I see it's only 2 cm shorter and quite a bit heavier than my Cort Action PJ longscale. So I'll have to look elsewhere.

Nice that they gave a cable with it even though it is a short one. No problem with that since you were buying a guitar but it was nice to receive in case you needed a temporary cable. I like the fact that they also include all the Allen wrenches and a nice neck strap. Not many companies will do that for sure. Thomann always seems to package their products well and is an awesome music company to buy from. The fret-board is so dark because it is made of Amaranth. Since it is basically a Fender Mustang copy you will have the neck dive because of that head-stock which is standard if you copying a Fender since Fender likes the strings to continue in the straight alignment. I hate that design on a short scale bass. I wish Harley Benton would have made their own design for a head stock on this short scale bass. That head stock design is fine on the long scale designs but on short scale it should be changed. There is just too much neck dive. I had the same issue on a Fender Squier Jaguar short scale bass. I hate the Fender Mustang head design being made the same way. Still for the price you can not beat it. I love the Harley Benton products and if you like the Fender design and can get by the neck dive on a short scale base this one is what I would buy. If it had a different head design I would buy it. Hello! I don't play the guitar, and I want to start on bass, do you think this bass is a good option to start? or is a normal scale better? I'm 1'75, normal hand. Thanks!

James, you are the ONLY reviewer who actually reviewed the Shorty. All others only showed how poorly they play. Could you measure the width at the widest point and from horn to bottom? Thanx, in advance...Cheers!!!
