What would you do if you were told you had just months to live?
Dave Bolton has survived not one, but two life-changing battles.
In 2004, Dave was involved in a near-fatal motorbike crash in Wales when he was crushed by an articulated lorry. He spent eight days in a coma, underwent a 12-hour life-saving operation and was told he might never walk properly again. His leg was even considered for amputation. Yet, after months of gruelling rehabilitation, Dave returned to frontline policing — and went on to become a World Kickboxing Champion.
Years later, another battle began.
Dave was diagnosed with a tennis-ball-sized brain tumour and eventually faced a terminal stage 4 glioblastoma diagnosis. He was given just months to live.
In this powerful conversation, Dave shares his extraordinary story of surviving a near-fatal motorbike accident, overcoming devastating physical injuries, becoming a world kickboxing champion and then facing one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

Love your defiance, third time diagnosed with breast cancer now stage 4 as in one lymph node opposite side in my good good breast (that had a breast lift same tone as diep flap surgery last november) & a very small area on pre cancerous skin.
Was given the all clear no spread last december but somehow the bugger is back again . Have a crazy story i defiantly fought it twice with only surgery fir 6 years- drs think i am crazy i think as i have my beliefs etc I was almost five years a month off then found small nodes in a scar in 2025 from a surgery 11 months prior to fix a bad surgery during covid.
I have many medication sensitivities hence not wanting chemo etc but now im apparently palliative stage 4 with only two areas in same region. They won’t take out the node via surgery or skin area as first was going to do.
Im so happy you have a great med team behind you as mine has caused a lot of stress & not giving my pathology etc as wanting a second opinion but theyre rushing me through but i know I won’t manage the treatments of chemo x 6 phesgo as her2 positive for apparently rest of my life.
Kudos to you you’re an absolute inspiration 🙏🏼
