In this video I rank every single FNAF jump scare sound effect on a tier list. I go into depth about sound design, foley, diagetic vs. non-diagetic sounds, etc. It was a fun time, and I hope that you guys understand this is ultimately just my opinion! I'm not gonna lie, Nightmares jumpscare sound is just so viscerally unsettling to me that even now, over 10 years later, it gives me chills.

I believe the "boom" in the FFPS salvage jumpscare is from them hitting and pushing off of the table to get to you

I was gonna give this video a 4/10 but then you nonchalantly glazed Funtime Freddy a little before putting him in B so I bumped it up to an 7/10. 🔥✍️

Is not a jumpscare, but a disturbing fact is that the sound of the little nightmare freddys make in fnaf4 is supposed to be a pig being slaughtered.

one thing i like in the secret of the mimic ones is how some of the jumpscares like the elephant costumes you can hear the elephant sound in the jumpscare thats a cool detail that i wish more suits had the animal noises implemented

My favorite "jumpscare" sound in Sister Location has to be the Baby one, which plays when you complete the secret death minigame.

The way it echoes sounds satisfying to my ear, and it sounds to me the most like an actual agonizing scream than any other jumpscare sound, which mixed in with how garbled and robotic it sounds it makes it seem as if it's Elizabeth screaming from inside Circus Baby

7:20 I believe this "explosion" sound comes from the table between the player and the animatronic, like it's being flipped over, or cracked in half while the animatronic jumps to your face.

I think the reason a film reel appears in the game over screen of sotm is because sotm as a whole is meant to be very old timey feeling compared to the rest of the fnaf games where in those games, the game over screen is a static screen. And what came before static with modern TVs, Old projectors with film reels. So, a film reel burning would be the old timing equivalent of static for that era of video entertainment, fitting for sotm's old timing vibe.

I mean, one of the good aspects about the fnaf 1 jumpscare sound is that it sounds like a child screaming (even though it isn't, but that doesn't matter here), which does fit with the lore. it's the haunted part of the haunted animatronics screaming at you.
