THE SPOOKY DAY IS HERE-oh wait, it's November

This video was stuck in development hell for a year now, and I thought I would never return to it. It was until this year that ‎‪@shadophy‬ convinced me to finish this video for this year's Halloween and, well, I did. This whole video was completely redone, with new footage, music, and a narrator! (Maybe I'll release the original draft)

Huge thanks to ‪@PhoenixJamesYTP‬ for narrating. He did a great job and really made it feel more alive! If it weren't for him, this video would've probably been left in the void again.

Even if this video's late, it's better to have it later than never. (Also, it's only like a day late, so let's just pretend it's still Halloween)

Hope y'all enjoy it!

I love how the Ghost Engine falls off the bridge in exact same way it did in ‘Duncan Gets Spooked.’

It also adds a disturbing implication to Rhenea’s encounter with it in this version of the story. He likely wasn’t just being warned about the broken rails…. He was possibly seeing the Ghost Engines death replaying in real time.

That ghost engine is a protector. Whenever the rails are damaged on that bridge, it warns others not to cross it.

That shot with the ghost engine reflecting in Rheneas’ eye was amazing! Great work.

0:23 "And refused to open his eyes he did though, when he knew his driver wasn't looking just to make sure he was still there."

Honestly this is one of the visually scariest Thomas fan videos I've ever seen. You seriously nailed the atmosphere of Duncan gets Spooked while also making it more cinematic. A lot of fans tend to focus too much on showing everything and making creepy faces. But by making the engine all black and features indiscernible, it leaves more up to the imagination and is just all around more creepy.
Well done.

WOW! You got the engine to roll! Thats the first time ive seen anyone pull that off in trains, well done!

You managed to turn a pretty mundane ghost story, into a show so well directed, that it actually freaked me out. Hats off to you, good sir.

Well done. This has to be one of the best adaptations of this story. Keep up the good work

4:46 Rheneas:It looked strikingly similar to Skarloey, but painted all in black. And it's face was worn and werey as it hasn't slept for several days. It's harsh gaze pierced right through me.

Not sure there’s a single issue I found here. The atmosphere was peak, likewise the quality, the voices weren’t bad, the thumbnail was very absorbing, each engines facial expressions and reactions were appropriate (I especially liked Rheneas’ drowsy eyes, blinking suddenly then completely opening in confusion).

And of course the mysterious engines plung into the marsh. Don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else handle that so on par with how it was shown in season 5’s Duncan gets spooked.

Most just have it droning slowly off the edge into the hillside.

Well done.

I’ve always wondered the origins of the engine. But I’ve just come to the conclusion that it’s something that never really will be explained. Skarloey & Rheneas never talk of it, Rusty doesn’t know of its life, and Duncan is the only one we concretely know saw it. So I’ve just begun labeling it a Wanderer, some spectre that warns others of faults in the rails where it’s particularly deadly. Not always there, but when it’s needed most.

I love the fact that this adaptation of the story relies less on the narratation of the story, and more on the actions and thought processes of the characters. For example, the original said "suddenly, it suddenly started puffing straight towards me", while in this one there's no need for that, as the ghost engine does so suddenly accompanied with dramatic camera angles, music and lack of narration and visual detail on the apparition. I just wish more rws/ttte fan adaptations did this, instead of relying too much on the narrator talking us through everything.

From 4:38-5:04 Dude that was such a good scene

You effectively used the camera and music to the best of their ability to build the suspense and horror of Rheneas’ encounter

This was perfect man, those visuals were SPOT ON!!

@firsttimegamer500 1 year ago

I like how the intro and outro are all a reference to supernatural hell even the font style is the same they used in the show.

@CraneProductions27 1 year ago

That was one spooky story. Rheneas telling the tale of how he too saw the ghost engine was intriguing. What a scene that was to happen on the old iron bridge.

@alexis_ian 1 year ago (edited)

Its unsettling to see Rheneas shaking from 4:46 to 5:32 in fright. Despite he is one of the oldest narrow-gauge engine on sodor. He was still unsettled by this encounter with the ghost engine on the old iron bridge!

I love how you adapted Rusty’s Ghost Engine. My favorite scene was Rheneas’s encounter with the ghost engine, you made the engine look genuinely creepy
Definitely my favorite adaptation of Old Haunts I’ve seen

was a pleasure narrating this!! Now here are the Halloween Just The Facts lyrics:

Run around with the four with the four four four with the
