15:08 Bruckner ends the first movement by cycling through every possible key in the tonal system. Exquisitely realized in this performance! I especially love the technique of slightly offsetting the timing of each instrument group so that each melodic "block" stands out while still being able to hear the whole harmony of the orchestra. Wonderfully talented conductor & orchestra!

Bruckner often gets criticised for so many repeated phrases, but you when you piece it together in the whole picture, you realise how organic his structures are. No 6 is one of my favourite symphonies, because he manages to condense his material into a shorter symphony...

What a great sound this orchestra make....

The SWR Symphony Orchestra does honour to the conducting of Kent Nagano in this superb performance of a beloved, though seldom played, symphony of Anton Bruckner. The balance in interpretation highlights the haunting melodies, and the subleties in musical conceptualisation.

The 4th movement of bruckner's 6th is unparalleled for emotional content. Truly a great work!!

BRAVO !!! Saludos desde España.

Great ending to the 1st movement with the American timpanist adapting well to his drums in the German configuration!!

I like the concert, many thanks. Nagano sits some times an the rehearsals of Günter Wand with the NDR, he is a great conductor. At Munich he has not much luck, but there exist good recordings with the DSO (Mahler 3 e.g.).

LOL! Herzliche Grüße from the Münsterland, in Northwestewrn Germany, Bernd.
