Do you think his apology actually addressed the real issue?

He's apologizing to save his job, not because he actually has any sincerity or feels remorse.

I used to be a radio dj and I can tell you with 💯% certainty the only reason he apologized was because he was told to,  probably under threat of losing his job. The way he spoke of JK was dismissive and disrespectful; the way he spoke of ARMY  was nasty. Congratulations,  dude,  the whole world now knows how you really feel and that you're not committed enough to stand behind your own words & behavior once you start to feel the blowback. Your "apology " sucks, and ARMY has a really ling memory. Enjoy the rest of your career, such as it  is.

He totally downplayed his disrespect and racism.

Every person who sat there and showed disrespect or laughed like hyenas at racism need to get back on that same platform and make a real apology. All of them. One guy making a video to downplay what he did isn't enough.

Absolutely no!
Half baked apology that doesn’t cut it.
I’m loving ARMYS response on IG with their stories. Doctors, therapists, nurses, architects, lawyers, artists, retired people, young kids and teenagers, marketing, advertising… the list goes on! This fandom has a wide variety of people. We embrace everyone!
Woody & Co? NOT CLASSY!

The comments were made on air. The apology should be made on air too.

The rest of the staff should apologize too.

It was a public on-air insult and the apology should be an on-air apology. Putting on Instagram is hiding.

NO ALL OF THEM WERE LAUGHING SO THE SORRY NEEDS TO COME FROM ALL OF THEM 90 DEGREE BOW INCLUDED

His apology is performative and his comments about ARMY were performative. His comment about Jungkook’s name was racist. Period. ARMY will not forgive and will not forget.

His apology doesn't sound apologetic.

Woody’s apology is worth nothing, he did not show any sincerity when he said it. He just wanted to defend himself. Shame on him. He is a truly coward guy.

That man has zero remorse. Apology not accepted. iHeart also did NOT apologize and they should have.

He showed his true character and I don't believe he is sorry at all. He's just trying to save his sorry a**.

He shouldn't have talked of Jungkook at all, not knowing him. He moked him. His apologize doesn't seam sincere. He was very unprofessional during the show. Thanks HB.🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Thank you for your razor sharp analysis.  I completely agree with you.  No, the defensive apology is not enough.  He needs to apologize for his disrespectful, racist, dismissiveness.  The other 2 also need to apologize with honest sincerity, asap.
IHeart corp needs to send out an official apology.
Will any of this happen?  I'm not holding my breath.

I haven't listened to the entire video yet but here is what stands out to me
He did not merely "mispronounce" Jung kook's name.  He actively ridiculed it in a xenophobic and racist manner.
And for that he has not yet apologized.

I teresting how in his apology, he praised ARMY'S passion but in the original content, he called it crazy and said it was worse than Taylor Swift fans, and clearly meaning it in a bad way. Now, suddenly that passion is a positive thing today?

The disrespect was done on radio, the apology should also be done on the radio to reach the same viewership.  Everyone on the show should apologize and also acknowledge the sound issues and the fact that the show went over to no fault of BTS. So while I may accept this apology as a first start, there needs to be more to acknowledge the unnecessary rude remarks - like whatever the "F" his name is, and repeatedly calling ARMY losers - which started with the other person before he repeated it several times.
