Hutchinson and his Halloween comics deserves way more credit than many think for his work on the series. The guy understands Michael the best out of any other writer for the series and has given us a version that’s, in my opinion, the most accurate depiction of how John Carpenter depicted The Shape in the 1978 film.

Imagine a publisher scooping these up and giving us a Halloween omnibus complete with the finally finished final issue of Laurie Strode included. That would be an amazing addition to anyone’s library.

11:34 Honestly kind of wish they kept making Halloween Comics. Feels like that's where they got the character the best and were less restrained compared to the movies. Helps that since it's comics, Loomis can still be directly involved.

This is the earliest I’ve ever been to a Doctor Wolfula video, literally 3 minutes

Hutchinson has been trying to get the third issue of Laurie Strode off the ground.

I had the opportunity to talk with him at Halloween 45 Years of Terror going as far as to see unreleased material. He’s a great guy and doesn’t get a lot of recognition especially at the Anniversary Conventions where the actors get most of the attention.

Strongly recommend to anyone and everyone going to H50 if Stefan is there to go ahead and stop by his booth.

Given the extent and rapidity with which they are capitalizing on the Halloween franchise, I would not be surprised if there is a renewed focus on the Thorn cult idea or if a literal Halloween multiverse is established as part of the canon.

I won’t lie, I do not like the idea of the strodes being abusive towards Laurie just for bringing up Mikey. It’s one of those things like rob Zombie’s version of Halloween where it seems like they don’t understand the fact that these people are supposed to be fairly normal who just so happens to be targeted and have their lives ruined by Mike

I reread/watch the history of these comics every time someone puts another retrospective out. Each time I hope they will announce that the "1st Death" series is finally completed. Or they found the long-lost issue, magically completed. But nope. I was impressed that you covered the Halloween novels so I am double-pleased to be a fan now that you have covered the comics too (even the little one-shots, good for you!). As ever, you do your research and present interesting commentary. Thanks!

I always love your retellings of the Comics because most of these I had no idea existed. Thanks Doc!

About time we get some closure on Ben, Doc!

I remember reading those first two issues online and was really looking forward to the third issue. The cover of Laurie crawling away from Michael is fantastic art. I should really track down a copy and frame it, it's one of my favorite pieces of Halloween media. It's a shame the story never got resolved. Same thing happened with the Freddy's Dead sequel comic, it was never finished either.

It's like Stefan Hutchinson watched the Halloween movies and was like, "y'know what? This isn't depressing enough!"

@LucyLioness100 11 months ago

Keep covering these! They’re quite fascinating and usually better than what we got in the actual franchise. Just makes me annoyed how the writers and artists keep getting screwed over

11:51 The H20 comics are better than H20 itself.

Happy AHHHHHOCTOBER, Doctor!

Devil's Due also originally published the original run of the Darkstalkers comics before they went under. If it weren't for Udon, who also published the Street Fighter comics, those comics would've never continued and would likely have faded into obscurity. Thankfully, that's not the case because they're unironically some of the best video game comics ever made

Please, Doc. We are eagerly awaiting your version of "Halloween: The Madhouse"

@HOTWADOFMEAT 11 months ago

Great vid Doc! I have to say these stories are bordering on “Coldsteel the Hedgehog” levels of edge though

I'd loved to see these Halloween comics reprinted in some form or another.

Can't say I'm a fan of Michael being a born psychopath. I like to think he was a normal kid with normal interests until that Halloween night in 1963, when something just went off inside him.
