THE THING (1982) freaked me OUT! | Movie Reaction

I finally watched The Thing (1982) thanks to Patreon and I was NOT ready for the chaos, the goo, or the paranoia. This movie had me screaming, laughing, and questioning everything from the very start until the very end. Kurt Russell was absolutely golden in this movie and those practical effects still hold up amazingly!

43 years later and it still freaks people out and looks good. The gold standard of practical effects.

People still argue about whether or not Childs was infected over 40 years later, and that's what makes this one such a classic imo

Your cat is like “what the hell is going on?”

The closest thing to a perfect horror movie ive ever seen. Brilliant effects, great cast. John Carpenters best film

"I Want To Believe" - there's a 90's TV show you might dig...

Tip of the cap to Rob Bottin. Effects so good they nearly killed him from exhaustion

Your screams 🤣🤣 When the month is over you have to make a clip with all the screams from the movies

Watching the cat respond to Kali's shrieks of terror with slightly annoyed indifference is very on brand. Internal feline monologue: 'Um.. excuse you.. could you not? Yeah thx.'

At the end, Childs was aiming the last flamethrower at MacReady, while MacReady was unarmed. If Childs was the Thing, he could have blasted MacReady with the flamethrower, or just absorbed him, but he didn't, so I've always been confident that they were both human. When Garry said the generator is "gone," he meant the generator was missing. Like it took the whole generator, possibly to power its improvised flying saucer. I don't think it intended to go into space with that. Just to civilization where it could find the parts it needs.

Imagine your walking in the middle of the night and the movie's theme song starts playing outta nowhere "bum bum... bum bum... bum bum..."

The Thing like The Alien uses all coommon aspects of horror films masterfully. It doesn't limit itself blood/gore or jump scares only, it builds amosphere with music and lights, it enforces everything by using isolation and paranoia...
