Never noticed it before but, after this video, I realized that there is some good character mirroring and themes that make this story really satisfying. Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie all struggle with feeling trapped in one way or another. Aladdin is trapped in his self-concept and social status, Jasmine is trapped physically in the palace and by the governing laws, and Genie is trapped in servitude and physically in the lamp for millenia. The ultimate way they share their feelings of being trapped though is through not being seen as valuable for their character/personhood until they build their bonds between them which is actually quite deep. I really like this theme since it's so universal.

The fact that dylan gets teary watching Aladdin being selfless and wishing for genie's freedom is just so so heart warming 🥺❤

I can guarantee that the meat pack joke didn't make me laugh as hard as watching Dylan laugh at it 😂
