Brent Spiner (Star Trek, Independence Day) joins us this week to drop some bombs about a certain someone’s return from the dead in Picard Season 3. Brent shares how he feels about being recognized (mostly) for a single character as Data in Star Trek - and later gets into the weeds on what his experience with the android has been like over the last few decades. We also talk about lessons learned from Joe DiMaggio, how he beat himself out for a Saturn Award, and tons of stories from his other roles in Night Court, Master of Disguise, and more!

These interviews make it easy to see how Jonathan, Marina, and Brent convinced the casting director of Gargoyles to just keep calling other TNG alumni to play secondary characters over and over.

Watching Brent fall back into his classic tells for both Data and Lore was incredible fun. He hasn't lost a step.

As far as I am concerned, Data, Picard, Riker - the entire cast is royalty. All the memories from all the years. It's great. May they all live forever.

It was great seeing Data finally becoming Brent Spiner

It warms my heart to hear that the crew of my childhood is a real family 😊

"And that's my friend Jonathan"

I'm really proud of Frakes and his directing. Having him direct FIRST CONTACT was a huge leap of trust on the part of the studio and indeed it's one of the most beloved STAR TREK films. I'm so happy he has continued directing in the franchise and when I see his name in the opening credits I know it's an episode that's in good hands (not that it isn't when someone else is directing, but you get me).

In Season 3 of Picard you could tell they were all happy to be back together and the chemistry between all of them is so natural. Frakes is probably a big part of that with his charisma and natural laid back attitude.

its very clear when you watch TNG cast they have chemistry via their close friendships in real life. It makes it even more realistic.

Stewart jumping is hilarious.....but Frakes going "I think we gotta do it again" is TEAR inducing🤣

Picard's TNG cast just proved that they still have IT, and it' so rare to see this in Hollywood. We need more TNG

can you not clickbait bs in the title pls? his whole POINT was that there were NO DIFFICULTIES whatsoever!

@CarlosHuiskens 3 years ago

I almost died of laughter then Brent said that Patrick was messing with him by jumping up and down because Brent is afraid of heights.

The funny thing about Brent is that he says he was worried about not being able to show a range of emotion when playing Data in the original run, but I think that was when he was at his absolute best as an actor.

Brent spiner is genuinely one of the nicest men to ever grace this planet! even on twitter he's so humble, he replies to practically everyone! such a top bloke

They are all excellent actors. The way Brent plays the different personalities of Lore and Data is out standing.

Watching Brent play so many different personalities and seamlessly switch from one to another and I never think , this is the same actor , he becomes an entirely new person ... he's so brilliant that I think it's hard to notice just how amazingly talented he is. Imo there are very few actors that can pull off what he does. He even has different body language for each character. It's truly amazing and a master class in acting.
