This song is one of the reasons that I am grateful you did this entire show at once. Everyone else who does this totally has the intro speech ruined since they know the title is “From God’s Perspective.” Your reaction was that much better because you watched it in the right context.

Definitely one of my favorites from Bo. I wish more people would take its message to heart.

The saddest man to ever live 😢 such brilliance in this guy. He is so much more aware than the majority of earth’s population and deserves to be loved and hugged daily.

My favorite line is the only one he repeats and so many reactors miss, and you pretty much nailed it, once you do God's "Good work" then that will give you love and you won't need his...so just be a good person and put love out there and the love will come...

My favorite comedian, Jim Jeffries, said a long time ago that he doesn't need religion - his philosophy for life is, "Try not to be a c*nt" ... he's Australian, so he's the only comic in the U.S. who can get away with dropping C-bombs 😄

Easily my favourite Bo song. The message and that melody is beautiful! I've always said to religious people in my life if you're only being good to be rewarded then that is self serving and does not make you a better person. Tim and Bo are able to articulate theae concepts so well.

Pork and drawing the line at the deli aisle is one of my all time favorite lines lol

I love this one so much. I'm an agnostic who's continually tending towards atheism; 2nd generation on my dad's side, 3rd generation on my mom's side (my adult daughter makes the 4th generation of non-religious family!) so take my opinion as you will, but this one gets me in the feels every time. So grateful that Bo took the opportunity in this song to bring up the idea to his fans that we should be making Earth a paradise to live in and gift to the future.

The thought absolutely makes it worth a try. ♥

(to the cynics, I'm a climate justice activist, I know all too well that we're making it harder and harder, but whatever we end up being able to pull through the anthropocene is more than worth every effort we can throw at the situation).

I have a friend that almost became a priest didn't but almost did, he said it best to me one time. He said you can go to church everyday or all the time and still not be any closer to god or can still go to hell. Mostly cause people feel like if the go to church then somehow god will forgive them which is not true cause just cause you go to church if you still a dick then no god won't forgive that.

This is my fave of bo... this is incredibly cognizant and existential, genius, while being sad, this aong has everything

@milkypeanutsonafriday 2 years ago

I think one of his most hardest hitting songs for me. The Kanye rant will always hit ofc, but this one is him talking to everyone, not himself or his audience. It just HITS

I agree with you, this is my all time favorite Bo's songs.

I love how he isn't a single god, he is addressing every religion all at once, without naming whom he actually is, is he the Cristian God? Is he the Muslim God? Hell, he could be Zeus for all we know, but no matter your background, the message still stands.

One of Bo’s best songs. There’s actually an older song of his that you didn’t get a chance to react to, once you’re done with this run of the “what.” special it’s definitely worth checking out! It’s called ‘rant.’ and is right in the same vein as this one albeit a little more direct.

I grew up in a super fundamentalist evangelical church and this message is why I became an atheist. No shade towards any believers, faith can be a truly beautiful thing. But I wasn’t surrounded by faith growing up, I was surrounded by hypocritical grandstanding and hate mongering.

Just don’t be a dick…it’s so simple lol.

Loving your reactions, keep ‘em comin!

Cheers

Ok, now you've reached this song (I've been waiting for ageeesss) I would really recommend reacting to the early version of this song called "Oh My God". It's not very well known but it has some amazing lines in it and it's by far my most favourite Bo Burnham song because of the meaning behind it.

Alright, video two here. Glad you found Bo. About to binge your reactions. Bo inspires me, and it might be because George Carlin is my favorite comedian, and Bo takes the reins from him with comedy that is too observational and a punch in the face. It makes you laugh, but it makes you truly question or think deeper. On the edge of your seat with a chuckle, but reaffirms you should always question your beliefs and ideals.

Cheers!
