An interesting fact is that all Brazilians were rooting for Germany, because if Argentina had won in Brazil it would have been much worse than the 7-1 defeat.

No superstars carrying the team, the team itself is the superstar. This team made winning look effortless.

That outstandingly beautiful goal by Mario Götze still brings a huge smile to my face. Poetry in motion.

“A fine tackle from Botang” is crazy. That was an absolutely pristine tackle one one of the best strikers in the world at the time.

You do notice that 2014 Argentina team did not play dirty, did not provoke the opponents' players, did not start a brawl after the whistle, they acted pretty respectful. Yes, they lost but they've lost with dignity. The current 2026 Argentina team should be ashamed of themselves.

A very deserving top 2. Both teams didn’t lose a single game that year. But Germany was unstoppable! They deserved every inch of victory considering their overall performance in all games that they played.
