This is definitely in a different spirit than your critique (mostly on target from what little I know) of Cambridge and Schuyler.  It's more a guy who won't date a girl because she's not his type (Allan) than because she's been too high maintenance or drama (Schuyler/Cambridge).  Thanks for all your work, Tim!

Love your channel, will continue to support. Thank you for the content! God bless!✝️

God bless all of y'all and have a great weekend, whoever's reading this!

First Tim came for the Cambridge Bibles,
And I did not speak out
Because I did not have a Cambridge Bible.
Then Tim came for the Schuyler Bibles,
And I did not speak out
Because I did not have a Schuyler Bible.
Then Tim came for the RL Allan Bibles,
And I did not speak out
Because I did not have an RL Allan Bible.
Then Tim came for me,
And there was no one left
To speak out for me!

I kid, Tim! I enjoy your content, and I appreciate your constructive criticism of Bible publishers, especially since a good Bible publisher will listen and improve as a result. 😇

I wish Allan would do a 95 NASB side column reference that I would hopefully be able to buy.

I think your reasons are solid.  Allan was the first Bible publisher I learned about when I became interested in premium Bibles 15 years ago.  During that time I've been blessed to get two of their Bibles.  I agree with every word you said about them as a publisher and about the quality of their Bibles.  I think you did an outstanding job of explaining your position and I, for one, support your decision.

Lol, that thumbnail! I so wish I had an Allan NKJV, the thickness of their pages blows Schuyler out of the water and I wish Schuyler made 36gsm standard on all their Bibles. I have an Allan NASB that I bought years ago and it's a quality Bible, but I've been priced out of their product. I'm using Cambridge, Thomas Nelson, and I just got the NKJV Quentel, which is lovely in Analine leather. The only other one I have my eye on is the BSB Humble Lamb, then that's it! Great video, thanks for your fairness.

I love your work, Tim, and I love Allan Bibles. I only own two (sold one), and Allan does not publish the two main English translations I use. I love them. If, like you, Allan came out with an NKJV or LSB or ESV with the Apocrypha, my money would go there.

Cambridge and Schuyler and Cambridge and Three Sixteen Publishers who do the LSB are great binders of bibles as is Humble Lamb.

Here in South Africa there is a fellow by the name of Matthew Hewitt who binds the hardcover and leather soft bibles I purchased and while the above publishers are superior in the print of the covers , Matthew Hewitt surpasses them all in the binding thereof.

Hi Tim.  I'm in the UK and have your issue in reverse. I've never owned, seen or handled a Schuyler. And I don't know anyone who would pay to buy and ship one over here. But Allan is British and we don't have to pay for international shipping.  I've owned three and sold two. I have a green ESV NC1, which is almost too lovely to use: one day I will! They are what we call the 'bee's knees' of Bibles. And any rebind would be a serious sacrilege. And they have lots of options in my favourite version, the ESV, though sadly I no longer have my favourite edition, the Personal Size Reference ESV. One day, maybe, they will do another.  Anyway, thank you for your gracious and honest reasoning.  David D

Brother, thanks so much for the video. After seeing it, now I want to get another Allan :) You also said something very interesting that I’ve been thinking about. If Allan comes out with a NKJV, I would buy it immediately :)

Great video. Big Allan fan here!

Fair video. I bought an R. L. Allan Readers Reference NLT Black goatskin w/ hot pink liner. Love the text block, love the heritage of the company, love the colour-way, love the quality, not so in love with the lack of features you mentioned. Expensive Bible need spine hubs IMO.

I live in Northern ireland. So buying an allan doesnt have to shippjng costs. But we have the same issues with the other publishers like schyler and 316. And i have become a fan of the LSB and have a first edition of the very first handy size LSB and had to be pay a large shipping cost. But i understand your points

Love my Longprimer 53C, and likewise I had a very positive experience with customer support.

My favorites are Allen, Cambridge, and Crossway. Couldn't decide which I like more so I just listed them alphabetically. If I list them in order of which I have more of then it would be Cambridge, Allen, then Crossway.

I love RL Allen and Cambridge Bibles.  Saving for a green KJV Cameo for my next one.  I hear you though, I dig raised hubs & perimeter stitching too.

I have an Allan NC2 ESV in petrol blue, I love the thicker paper and it smells devine but I dont use it much because like you I prefer the nkjv. I asked them about an nkjv but unfortunately they have no plans to do one

My wife Annie won that Allan! It’s the most premium bible we own and such a blessing. I wish I could share a photo. But I’m with you, I would love an Allan NKJV. I hope they release one in my lifetime lol
