I don’t mind the headstock

Unlike his Mum, Jonny's liking the short scales these days 😜

Those tones with the tone knob at 20% or just closed, are incredible. Also that sustain at 6:34. I mean, DAMN.

cort is seriously underrated af. i'm mainly a guitar player, my bass is a cort. it was dirtcheap, but feels really nice and i have zero complaints. i don't have a lot of comparison, but i played a bandmates warwick bass weekly for years, and i like my cheap cort way more. it's overall lighter and the neck is slimmer, which is a plus for me. lately i've been thinking if i should switch to a shortscale or try one out, and this and the other new shortscale cort are really cool. i wanted a mustang type bass originally, or a sterling shortscale stingray, but i keep coming back to the corts when browsershopping.

The headstock though, that thing belongs in a Cort...👨‍⚖ The rest of it I really like, hopefully they will make full 34inch versions in the future...!

Finally, a short scale bass with a T-Bird style pickup! You’re right about the Vox look. The pickguard also reminds me a bit of a Gibson Melodymaker.

Yep, agreed. Lack of painted headstock aside, for me it looks and sounds great.

The tone is awesome ❤

That headstock is crying out for a googly eye stuck near the notch, for that "shocked gasp" look.

Reminds me of my Squier CV Mustang that I have installed a Lollar T-bird pickup in 😄This one sounds practically just as fantastic as my Squier, but I do think my Squier looks a bit better. I agree that the stock pickup in the CV Mustang leaves a lot to be desired though. It needs something like a proper split-P or T-bird pickup to really come alive! I've also read that some people have had QC problems with their CV Mustangs, but mine is absolutely impeccable! Perfectly level frets with perfectly smooth fret-ends, super sturdy neck that barely moves when pull and push on it, perfectly cut (bone) nut, hasn't needed a truss-rod adjustment in all the years I've owned it and the neck sits so tight in the neck pocket that you need to use a rubber mallet to attack the neck. I honestly couldn't wish for more considering what I paid for it.

The little divet in the headstock is likely a branding thing, since a signature characteristic of most Cort basses is that divet.

Looks pretty mint! Always love the look of a Thunderbird pickup casing

@DeeElectronic 11 days ago

Whelp... they CORTed my attention with that vintage styled bass.

@EddieG1888 4 days ago

If I bought one of those I'd immediately reshape that headstock, swap the tuners out for lightweights, and have a second Thunderbird-style pickup routed in halfway between the pickguard and the bridge, which I feel would really open up the tone a lot. Also, if I was feeling sexy, a series/parallel switch with a capacitor added to drop some of the lower end off the combined pickup tone.

@irishpete5472 10 days ago

I can live with headstock, but yes matching colour would be better. Mmmmm, lovely bass! Well done on this early scoop Johnny 👍

@RadityoPramAdi 11 days ago

beautiful sound with the tone knob at 0.

@IanOReillyGuitars 8 days ago

I really don’t mind the headstock at all. If I needed another electric bass I’d certainly consider it.

@nekot9274 10 days ago

Ouch the headstock.

@Terrible_Peril 8 days ago

Right away I can tell I’ll like playing one because the strings ride close to the body. Plenty of basses are geometrically different and still great, but that’s a particularity that I’ve found I tend to favor.
