This is my sequel to the video "You can drop thumb from the Get-Go!" Both are aimed at beginning clawhammer players who are trying to get started with drop thumbing. This second video demonstrates a very useful variation on the basic "1-2-1-5" pattern that I explained in the first video.

Hi Jack. Just thought I'd letcha know that I've been working on this the last day or so. It is a little difficult to train myself to hit the 3rd string, but once I get it going I can maintain it for a good bit. I like the addition of the A note in place of the G. It does lend itself very nicely as an ending to a tune. I'm having a bit of brain block in getting drop thumb mixed in with the standard bum ditty, but I'm sure it will come together with more practice. Thanks for providing this series. I've practiced the reverse one from lesson three a few times, but I still need to practice it to really get it down. I can pretty much do the standard 1 2 1 5 without really thinking about it though, so I'm glad to have gotten that far.
