The jobs report missed big, and that's exactly what the market wanted. Stocks are surging, yields are falling, and oil is collapsing.

Payrolls came in at 29,000 against an 89,000 forecast. Unemployment ticked up to 4.2%, and hourly earnings rose just 0.1% against an expected 0.3%. That knocks an October hike off the table and makes December a coin flip. Add France possibly releasing up to 50 million barrels from its strategic reserve, and it's rally mode. Gareth Soloway explains why the bull thesis is intact.
📐 ON TODAY'S SHOW
🟢 THE S&P SURGES — Futures are up 1% and pushing toward 7,800. Gareth never left his bullish bias. The S&P stayed above the neutral zone, and his upside target is about 8,000 at the upper trend line. He also bought Bank of America yesterday as a beaten-down financial swing trade.
🔴 THE 10-YEAR'S WEEKLY TOPPING TAIL — Yields are back below 5.2% at 5.174%. They pierced the 2006–2007 highs several times but never confirmed above them. If this week closes the way it looks now, it prints a weekly topping tail at a major pivot high, a strong reversal signal that favors lower yields.
🔴 OIL — Down over 3.5% and sitting on a trend line with five pivot lows near $88.80. A close below it points to $77 to $78, and Gareth expects that by the midterms a month from now.
🔵 GOLD, SILVER AND COPPER — Gold is holding a trend line that runs back to May 2025. Gareth would get nervous if it's still chopping along that line mid next week, since that could become a bear flag. Silver has more downside risk than gold if the economy slows, because of its industrial use. Gareth is short copper with members and in the money.
🔵 BITCOIN AND NAT GAS — Bitcoin's resistance is near $89,000. Gareth is neither long nor short on a swing basis and is waiting for a better setup. He's still accumulating nat gas and wants it to recapture $2.85.
🟢 NKE — Nike beat on EPS at $0.48 versus $0.44 but missed on revenue and cut guidance to $1.15 to $1.35. It fell as low as $31.35. Gareth is long and added after hours, a contrarian buy at maximum negativity. U.S. revenue actually beat, while China was weak. Support is $32, then $28.
🔴 STX AND WDC — Toshiba's production ramp is hitting storage names, which is the oversupply risk Gareth has warned about for memory. He's watching Seagate's gap fill and ascending trend line for a day trade.
🟢 BIDU AND THE HANG SENG — Baidu is piercing an $85 flatline at the bottom of a descending parallel, and Gareth is a buyer there. The Hang Seng could be forming a massive inverse head and shoulders if the dollar falls.
🔑 KEY TAKEAWAY: Respect a level until it breaks. The 10-Year pierced its 2007 high again and again but never confirmed above it. The chart told you the reversal was coming before the jobs data did.
