I really appreciate the judge stating that it was his duty to protect any future "Stephanies" from this depraved man. Too often these monsters are allowed out due to lenient sentences and they waste no time in going ahead and ruining other people's lives

I think one incriminating behavior is him not reporting her missing. He seemed pretty content she never came home. My heart goes out to her and her family.

He’s a true narcissist. He couldn’t handle her breaking up with him. He had to be the one in control. He didn’t want to be with her anymore and was planning to move to Philippines by the end of the month. He couldn’t just let her live and go her separate way away from him. It’s crazy because they weren’t even married and didn’t need to split property. So glad the jury got it right. RIP Stephanie.

Family domestic violence is very complicated, and it is dangerous, emotionally, psychologically, and physically to endure. The victim is stuck unless she has a lot of support to leave. Leaving is the most dangerous time because the perpetrator doesn't want to lose control over the victim. This is when the victim and a lot of the times, the children are killed. So when people say, "why didn't she just leave?" It is not that simple or easy.

Stephanie endured a lot of torment with this narcissist and the last thing she saw was his grotesque face. He is a nightmare. Glad that Matthew received life without parole. He won't be able to hurt anyone else ever again. He deserves to rot. I can't even begin to imagine the pain Stephanie's daughter endured. Losing her mom at the hands of her dad is something that will haunt her for the rest of her life. My heart goes out to the girl and the rest of Stephanie's loved ones. May Stephanie continue to R.I.P. ❤
