Fun fact about animals with spikes on their backs, they evolve to have them because they require them to ward off and poison enemies which can eat them whole (pufferfish, lionfish, horned devil etc). Which means if this monster has spikes on its back, it not only has a natural predator, that natural predator can eat it whole....

That gigantic creature is Bloodbath Godzilla. Formed from a mutated Basilosaurus, an extinct type of prehistoric, serpentine whale.

I doubt that any of yall would care but I'd like to share that I fell asleep watching the ending of this and straight up had a nightmare that they followed it/were chased into one of the caves and it turned around and picked them off one at a time while they tried escaping, and the video ended with it up close. I was like "damn, that scene where it turned around crawling in the cave was super well done, lemme go rewatch that!" and it didn't exist. So yeah, I somehow was cursed with the bad ending to this that doesn't exist? Awesome.

If we go by the logic that he wasnt really scared of the weird thing while going to the watch tower, it's highly possible in that universe those kind of small monster's are common but the really huge one's arent

I know why ice spikes happens. It is because when the water in the area around frezes it pushes water up and freezes th sides then pushes the water up again and repeats
