하지만 그럼에도 일부 본당에서는 재정적인 어려움으로 인해 별도의 기준을 마련하는 경우가 있지 않을까 합니다. 빚이 많거나 신자들의 자발적인 교무금만으로는 본당 운영이 어려운 상황에서, 본당 신부님과 사목회의 의결을 거쳐 미사지향 예물에 관한 기준을 정하는 경우도 있기 때문입니다. 이러한 결정은 이상적인 모습이라기보다, 아직 완성되지 않은 지상의 교회가 현실 속에서 겪는 한계와 필요 속에서 이루어지는 부득이한 선택일 수 있습니다.
물론 이것이 모든 경우를 정당화하는 것은 아닙니다. 만약 개인적인 편취나 부의 축적을 목적으로 그러한 기준을 악용하는 일이 있다면, 그것은 하느님 앞에서도, 교회 공동체 안에서도 결코 용납될 수 없는 일입니다. 그러한 행위는 마땅히 책임을 지고 엄중한 판단을 받아야 할 것입니다.
하여 이번 영상을 통해 미사지향의 참된 의미와 그에 따른 예물의 본래 뜻이 제대로 확립되기를 바랍니다. '돈으로 무엇이든 살 거야'라는 생각이나 혹여 '커피값은 아까워하지 않으면서 성당에 내는 돈이라고 하면 무조건 거부감이 드는 것' 모두 온당한 생각은 아닐 것이기 때문입니다. 이에 서로의 문제의식을 존중하면서도, 사실관계를 충분히 살피고 성급한 단죄보다는 교회가 더 올바른 방향으로 나아갈 수 있도록 함께 지혜를 함께 모아 주시는 장이 되기를 바랍니다.
