THE HIVE IS OPEN—AND ROXY & TARA JUST FOUND THEIR NEXT HORROR OBSESSION!
Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson kick things off on their journey toward Zach Cregger’s new Resident Evil movie by watching Resident Evil (2002) for the first time. In this Resident Evil full movie reaction and review, Alice awakens without her memories before joining an elite team sent beneath Raccoon City into the Umbrella Corporation’s secret research facility known as the Hive. Written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon), Resident Evil stars Milla Jovovich as Alice (The Fifth Element, Monster Hunter), Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo (Fast & Furious, Avatar), Eric Mabius as Matt Addison (Ugly Betty, Cruel Intentions), James Purefoy as Spence Parks (Rome, A Knight’s Tale), Colin Salmon as James “One” Shade (Arrow, Alien vs. Predator), and Martin Crewes as Chad Kaplan.
Roxy & Tara discuss the movie’s fast pacing, Matrix and Blade-style early-2000s aesthetic, Umbrella Corporation conspiracy, practical creatures, Alice in Wonderland symbolism, video-game origins, and why the laser hallway was easily their favorite trap. After loving the atmosphere, action, and different varieties of infected creatures, they’re officially ready to continue through the Resident Evil franchise.
