Ive been all over YouTube gathering  information for plein air gouache. Your work, by far , has inspired me to dedicate myself to the medium. Value , atmospheric perspective, and those amazing overlapping edges are second to none .Bravo sir……. Time to do the work!

fastest click of my life

Thanks for sharing you gouache sketchbook Judd. I have that toned book so good to see it handed gouache well enough. I’ve been doing similar in oils but itching to break out the gouache this month. I use acrylic now in a similar way in sketchbooks or for colour studies. It does make light work of ideas and exploring colour and light.

Love your quick studies 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Love your thumbnails. Inspiring. You have such a good understanding of light and colour.

Great stuff as always!

You are amazing …… so in love with your art

Beautiful work Judd!
The page with the turquoise water and the following Colorado river scenes got me really inspired.

Thank you for sharing your work and your thoughts about your process. You are nailing all your subjects, it't truly inspiring!

Your sketchbooks are stunning!  Wow!  I’m feeling so inspired to break out the gouache.

Amazing sketchbooks! Thank you for sharing, very inspring!!! :)

A beautiful sketchbook tour!  Love your style and I am inspired to start Gouache in sketchbooks!.  Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely love your sketchbooks.  It gives us a glimpse into the creative soul in motion.  If I may criticize a little bit the presentation, could you suppress that upper right hand insert of you talking because it overlaps with your sketchbook and we can't see the tiny sketches.  Either that or move the sketchbook to (our) left, would be your right, so we can get the full picture.  Thanks 👍 for sharing and commenting

Thanks for emphasis on bounced light; I know it but when painting I get too involved in broad areas of color.

Wonderful! Thanks for the tour and chat. You talk about using the sketches for larger oil paintings....do you ever do larger paintings in gouache? Thanks

how do you travel on planes with gouache? Do you check a bag with your tubes & info sheets on them, or dry your gouache, or?

I have a question about Quarantine: who do you think is catered to? What level of proficiency is needed to get the most out of the event since it's not focused on technique? What mindset do you need to do that and how that makes you a better artist?

Merci de ces petites pochades.  De très jolis tons 😊😃. Du gesso parfois sur du papier en sous couche??  Merci.

I have a question. I use watercolors, and when they dry, I can easily reactivate them. Can gouache be reactivated, or once it dries, do I have to throw it away? I watch your videos and always notice your palettes full of paint...

My biggest issue with gouache is blending and layering.. blending smoothly is almost impossible as it dries quickly .... layering is tough as it creates mud despite dried lower layers
