GOOFY MENTION BEST VIDEO EVER

The reason why most of the EXE community is so vigilant on making sure the characters are named properly is because Sonic.EXE is such an umbrella term of different characters that are so far separated from the original one from the creepypasta (nicknamed Crimson X among other things due to the original game being made by my5tcrimson), hence why X (2011x, 2017x, Lord X, Lord Mortis, etc.) is commonly far removed from OMT, Fatal Error, Pace & Shadow, Hog, EXE, etc. etc. etc.

I know WAY too much about any of this than any reasonable person should so if you have any questions ask away

4:47 I still find it hilarious that the reason the game is just a straight path is because sonic.exe (or X) in lore sucks at level design. Don't be so rude he's new to game development man😢😢😢

Honestly, you missed a lot of what sonic 2011 was going for.
1. X is cannonically the worst level designer known to man, he thinks straigh lines is peak game design. And when it comes to platforming(tails' secret level) it genuenly sucks, but you could also use the secret level to skip the boring 2 minute walk, by jumping into a pit, which is clever design

2. In Knuckles' secret level. There is faint bloody text that reads "my son...". Dave was a father, and he'll never see his son ever again.

3. Paul's soul gets devoured at the end from X's black hole(that's in his mouth), that's why he looks like that in the death screen.

4. The game isn't trying to be tense, not at all. The devs knew that people won't take the game seriosly and they used it to their advantage. JoeDoughBoy has made comics, where Alan suffers because of the player, because they do not care about him, because the player treats the game like a joke

A thing you probably should know about Sonic 2011 is that it’s actually a prequel to PC Port, Lord X (the PC Port guy) and 2011 X (the Sonic 2011 Guy, who in canon is just called X) are the actual same character. This extends to Lord Mortis who is a version of X after being defeated by a certain character who isn’t himself. Anyone else is a separate entity from them.

The official EXEs are:
- 2011 X (a remake of JC’s X without all the problematic elements JC wrote. X is an alien from the void who woke up, and observed Earth out of curiosity. The first creation he found of humans ended up being Classic Sonic. He loves humans, but in the same way a child loves toys. He enjoyed Sonic the Hedgehog so much he took inspiration and made himself look like Sonic. Any character who is in the game is a soul he pulled in.)
- Lord X (The main future of 2011 X where he grew older and more mature, and got better at his craft. He usually ends up making his victims even more miserable than before.)
- Lord Mortis (the future where X gets defeated by Bandado in an alternate universe to PC Port. This would happen after the ending of Sonic 2011. He sides with the souls he tortured to take down Bandado)
- Bandado (The Eggman to X’s Sonic in the alternate future known as “Sonic II Gaiden,” where the vessel Paul inhabited in the end of Sonic 2011. Paul being the soul in the vessel of Doctor Robotnik)
- 2017 X/“Sonic” (a retake of the original remake JC made of Sonic.EXE. He is a version of X who saw Modern Sonic in the dark ages instead of Classic Sonic, and became so obsessed with Sonic that he believed he WAS Sonic. He forces his souls to play the roles of Sonic characters.)
- EXE/Faker (a creation of X before 2011 X, was made as an assistant to help collect souls to put in the game. Was uncooperative with X, so X ditched him and put him into a different dimension. He’d try again and succeed with The Guardians while Lord X. Was originally a retake of X, but became a different canon entity because Joe and Raven were friends and Joe liked EXE enough)
- Xenophanes (the official reboot of Sonic.EXE as a concept by Astra. There isn’t much information about him yet as Astra refuses to reveal much of the story until it’s out)

For more information about the official EXEs, please refer to either the Wikis or the creators’ social media. Even released games should help you.

And to clear up misinformation accidentally spread about Sonic 2011 and PC Port:
- the Doctor Robotnik vessel in … actually has a soul inside him, just like the rest. That soul is named Paul
- Sonic 2011 is the official remake of the original story, PC Port being a sequel that takes place years later
- Paul doesn’t get eaten at the end of Sonic 2011, instead his soul gets erased from existence, as the inside of X’s mouth may aswell be a black hole. When the soul gets erased, the vessel is left behind as an empty shell.
- Reasons why there are differences between Sonic 2011 and JC’s one is because Joe and his team wanted to remake the original story in a way that’s faithful, but way better than the original.
- PC Port, being a sequel and all, doesn’t follow the original story’s plot. Lord X is giving the souls the illusion of a chance to strip it away, just for his amusement after years of doing literally the same thing as before over and over again.
- PC Port and Sonic 2011 aren’t romhacks, in canon they’re a look into X’s world from an outsider’s perspective.

Otherwise, good video. I like what you made

I hate being a nerd on this shit but here it goes- unfornately that’s what fixation does- anyways at 6:36 when he opened his mouth like that- it wasn’t actually about eating him whole like a whole chicken, rather after it was to basically eat his soul and make him fade out of existence completely, that’s why the eggman in the save screen looks like that- he’s basically missing a soul

This is why research is important.

15:30 Miles IS is real name. mainly used in the EU. Miles "tails" prower is his name, even shown when booting up sonic 2.

I am now realizing I misheard what he said.

13:00 Fun fact, the guys who made that song dropped an album called Sinister Minds full of songs just like it this Halloween. If you liked 'I Miss The Quiet' consider checking it out some time!

I dont think the failed pc hacks were failed. They're meant to say "access to camera failed" or smthn because its probably scarier than actually seeing them open your camera. At least that's what I think is supposed to happen since everyone else didn't have their camera opened

The Outcome King, looking down from his throne: "Play my game. Explore the outcome of the memories."

17:47 funnily enough the song is from shining force II for the sega genesis/mega drive

It is the same guy…? 9:28 just older

7:13 but why😭😭

Big exe guy here, lemme just explain some stuff rq.

Sonic 2011. The reason the game is just a walking simulator is to further invoke the feeling of you, the player, having no control. Still, its basically just a walking sim. Though the exe, X, is different then the original exe. 2011 X is made by Joedoughboi, Sonic.exe (from the og story n game) is by Jc the hyena (we hate Jc)

PC port. Lord X is actually the same character as the exe from Sonic2011. Lord x is a possible future for exe in which he becomes mature, experienced, etc.
The Song u mentioned is a lil nod to Micheal Jacksons history w Sonic, inspiring Sonics shoes n Helping w Sonic 3 music.

Green Mountain. Technically not an exe, though the lore is kind of sad. What I know is that the story reloves around a murder case. In the game, its basically a repeating cycle. Sonic comes in, fights end, end tries to run, and then dies. Sonic sits there, becomes end, and the cycle repeats. A never ending, repeating, cycle.

9:09 They... are the same. Lord X is 2011X but matured, patient, and more sadistic. Plus, better at their craft. The full game will provide more entertainment.

I know you don't said in the video, but why is sunky in the "ugly" side on the thumbnail? My living legend deserves better! (Unless its clickbait... because if it is, i actually fall for that), otherwise good video!

BTW about EYX, the game is apparently receiving a full on remake, and it's planned to focus more on gameplay, and it would tone down the 4th wall jumpscare stuff. Oh, yeah also Green Mountain isn't an EXE game, it's just a weird Sonic game, END just gets lumped in with EXEs a lot.

1:33 what are you looking at me for? I've never played a sonic game other than sonic heros

There’s 3136 EXE variants and counting
