In this video I show how to build a Double Clip Down Dongle Rig, a highly effective sea fishing rig designed specifically for targeting flatfish from the shore.

This rig allows you to present two baits close to the seabed, exactly where flatfish feed. The clip down system keeps the rig streamlined during the cast, helping you achieve longer casts and fewer tangles, especially when fishing sandy beaches or mixed ground.

This is a great rig to prepare before a session when targeting flatfish along the Norwegian coastline.

Flatfish species that can be caught using this type of rig include:

Plaice

Flounder

Dab

Turbot

Brill

Because the rig uses two short dongle hook snoods, it keeps the bait positioned perfectly on the seabed where these species naturally hunt for worms, shellfish, and small crustaceans.

🎣 Why this rig works for flatfish

Keeps bait tight to the seabed

Two hook presentation increases chances of a bite

Clip down system allows longer casting

Reduces tangles during powerful casts

Perfect for sandy beaches and coastal marks

In the video I go through all the components needed and step-by-step instructions to build the rig, so you can tie one yourself before your next flatfish session.
