In this major two-part documentary series, one of our most familiar and best-loved international TV personalities, David Suchet, undertakes an epic journey that spans the Mediterranean. He is inspired by a charismatic individual whose own Mediterranean travels, some two thousand years ago, would change the world. After Jesus, Paul is the most significant figure in the history of Christianity and the Western world. He was the first international ambassador of this new faith, catapulting Jesus' radical message of salvation from Judea to the wider Mediterranean world.

It was Jesus that changed Paul. He met Jesus on the Damascus Road.

This is why I can’t stop watching YouTube sometimes.

Paul changed because he met Jesus. All of us who meet Jesus and know Him as personal Saviour, change. It's Jesus living in us who brings the change.

I would comment that Christ did not "need" Paul to spread his message to the world, he could have chosen to do so in any manner he saw fit. However, Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, proved a great instrument of evangelization in the Divine economy.

This quest puts the focus on the humanity of Paul and causes us to reflect on what he may have felt as he traveled those thousands of miles. The beautiful narration by David Suchet gives depth and emotion to this documentary. The gorgeous cinematography allowing us to view Paul's route enhances the historic significance. And the Word of God presented so clearly will not return void, but will have an impact on those who hear it.

Experience and apparition of JESUS CHRIST, As a child, with my younger brother. JESUS was standing in the sky, in Miami, Florida, USA. This was 1973. I was five and my brother 4. I was told in 1990, I had 2 yrs to live. I am still alive in 2026. GOD IS SO REAL AND I AM HAPPY TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE. AMEN IN CHRIST ❤

St. Paul was a Roman citizen, a status he held by birth, which afforded him certain legal rights and protections within the Roman Empire. Born in the city of Tarsus, located in the Roman province of Cilicia, his Roman citizenship, combined with his Jewish heritage and education, was a significant aspect of his identity and ministry.

18:19 what transformed Paul into an ambassador of love…? His encounter with Jesus himself on the road to Damascus. It was something that must have blown his mind! An actual physical encounter with Jesus.

Paul encountered the risen Christ on the way to Damascus. That is what changed him entirely. The light that blinded him was most likely Christ's glory. On receiving the Holy Spirit, he was empowered and energized to be God's vessel. Being born again and being filled with the Holy Spirit is still a supernatural event, not just changing one's mind. The fruit of the Spirit was then evident in his life.

I beg to differ w/ David if not Paul God would have chosen another His words would never have been silenced...His word will go on till the end of time....Saying if not for Paul the word might have not gone on is crazy....

I would love to see Sir David play Paul.

This must be a blueprint for how to make a documentary. David Suchet represents his curiosity as a thread connecting the Biblical knowledge and the actual historical sites. Neither David nor the experts consulted demand attention, they transmit their contribution of knowledge and allow the narrative to flow and take us along with it. Excellent and informative.

I have travelled to many of the places Paul also visited. I have a high regard for this amazing man.

Malta has so much history of St Paul, well worth a visit.

David Suchet's notebook is fantastic. Beautiful drawings. Very well done documentary. I am much more positive about Paul now that I understand more about him. Thank you!

He was on fire with the Holy Spirit

David Suchet was initially not much interested in Christianity and religion. In an interview, he relates that some years into his acting career, he was staying in a hotel. One evening, he noticed a copy of the New Testament sitting on the table, and started reading it. He was fascinated and deeply moved by the Letters of St. Paul, and says it started a lifelong obsession with the rise of the early Christian Church. And especially an interest in Paul.

Excellent. We follow David walking through all the places Paul walked, I actually FELT it as David climbed up hillsides and down into caves. Professionally filmed. Loved it!
