The Ultimate Final Fantasy Retrospective

This is the ultimate Final Fantasy I retrospective. A deep dive into the NES classic that launched the entire Final Fantasy franchise. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Final Fantasy, a newcomer exploring JRPGs, or someone who loves deep‑dive video essays, this video revisits the paradoxical time‑loop, the iconic world, and the charmingly archaic systems that defined the original Final Fantasy.

This retrospective goes far beyond a simple recap. With carefully crafted editing and a focus on storytelling, this video aims to create a fulfilling viewing experience for any Final Fantasy fan.

Join me as we journey back to 1987 and explore how a small, uncertain project became one of the most influential and beloved video game franchises of all time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the story of the game that started it all.

Thanks so much for watching my retrospective. I only got into Final Fantasy a few years ago, but it quickly became one of my favorite franchises and I wanted to create something that honors that special feeling it holds for so many of us.

So now I want to ask: what makes Final Fantasy special to you?

It's genuinely been a long, long time since I've watched a video with the level of polish you've put into this. You're funny, have thorough explanations, and really put way too much effort into glowing up FF1. I can't wait to see you cover the rest of the series.

Also two minutes of Bad Dwarven is some serious commitment to the bit
