Joe Pesci played Tony incredibly well, especially the temper and thinking he was untouchable.

Tony moved next-door to a childhood friend of mine‘s home in Las Vegas and he came over to introduce himself to the family and asked if there were many robberies or anything in the neighborhood. In hindsight when I talk to my friend about this, we laugh because he’s out robbing people and he’s worried about getting robbed.😂

They took to power from one group of criminals and gave it straight to a worse bunch of criminals. The corporations who target the players directly leading to what we’re seeing today.

Casino (1995): Directed by Martin Scorsese and based on Nicholas Pileggi's nonfiction book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas, the film fictionalizes Spilotro's life and criminal activities in Vegas. Joe Pesci plays Nicky Santoro, a hot-tempered mob enforcer who serves as Spilotro's on-screen counterpart. The character's violent exploits, including jewelry store heists and brutal enforcement tactics, closely mirror Spilotro's real-life role. Pesci's performance earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

That was quite an interesting look at that story. The music was a bit loud and made it hard to hear the narrator though.

This storyline was far more compelling and far more relevant than the absurdly exhausting sensationalized storyline of Lefty's (or "Ace" to those who don't know) wife. Why in the world was this so badly minimized for the Casino movie?

The book was 10 of 10! Same for movie! Twisted Tales same!

Ask the old timers of Vegas what was better, Vegas 40 years ago or now, and they'll almost unanimously say the old Vegas, because even though the Mafia ran Vegas, their service inside the casinos was far better than what they do today. You're only a number to the corporations and little more.
