Music that puts you at ease💆🏽‍♂️

This album is considered one of the best Live albums of all time. You should consider listening to the whole thing at once.

Gregg is still in his early 20’s and singing with so much soul in 1971

Organ and vocals by a 22 year old Gregg Allman, what a voice,  so much soul.

It’s impossible to listen to this entire album and not be a lifetime lover of the Allman Brothers

One of the greatest albums of all time!

Greg Allman one of the most soulful voices to ever pick up a microphone.

Fillmore East was in NYC, Fillmore West was in SF. Two lead guitars, two drummers, rock solid bass, and brother Greg on keys and soulful deep south vocals. The harmonica player was Thom Doucette, not an official member of the greatest band that ever existed or ever will exist. Yeah, kids should be mandated to listen to this so they can get their souls back. You seemed to be feeling the groove, that you love blues. That's a good thing. Listen to the rest of the album, there are no weak tracks. I had it on vinyl back in..lemme think..1971! Wore it out. "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed", "Whipping Post", "You Don't Love Me" will blow your mind to pieces

Fun fact: the album cover photo shoot was going horribly, everyone was getting aggravated, when Duane suddenly jumped up to speak to someone on the street. The photographer was angry and yelling. But the whole band started smiling and laughing, because Duane had bought an 8-ball of coke. That's what he's hiding in his hand. Guy in front on the left.

Gregg Allman is the singer he is in the middle wearing the white jacket and also has blonde hair.He is laughing at his brother Duane one of the guitarists who is below him to the left. The photo session had not been going well until a friend of Duane came up and gave him a little present(which you can see him hiding in his hands) which cracked the band up.

The whole album is perfection!    This particular song is a favorite!

Arguably the greatest blues song of all-time  (and the greatest blues rock band).

The Allman Brothers Band were the originators of the blend of Country, Blues, Gospel, and Jazz, that became known as Southern Rock.

By the way Fillmore East was a concert hall in New York City that closed in 1971 with the Allman Brothers as the last act

This is a deep and beautiful hole to dive into! Nobody like them. Except maybe some of their sons, carrying on their legacy after their deaths. Dickey Betts passed in April, leaving only one living band member, Jaimo, who is 80 now. Devon Allman (original member Greg Allman's son) and Duane Betts (Dickey's son) have amazing careers and talent of their own. But once a year, they put together a traveling tribe of extremely talented guests  and hit the road for a tribute concert to their dads, and the other band members, playing all the Allman Brothers classics they can cram into 3+ hours of magic❤️ I'll be at the Seattle stop of The Allman Brothers Family Revival tomorrow night, and I can't wait! Enjoy your journey into some of the best Southern rock blues ever made

So much musical talent back then.  These guys were in their mid twenties. What you hear is real. Unlike some today.

You're spot on about kids need to listen to The Allman Brothers Band! What the world needs now is more ABB. The road will indeed go on forever...

Love seeing a young guy appreciate a great band. Great reaction

The singer is Greg Allman, he also plays the hammond b3 organ and is the guy with blonde hair and white jacket. He's standing next to his brother Duane who played guitar.

Your assessment of The Blues and its purpose is spot on. Its about sharing a burden. WE all get the blues and its nice to be reminded we are not alone and in fact its making lemonade from life giving you a lemon.
Something beautiful comes out of it. A great song.
