How pretty these nightstands turned out. Love the way you treated the sides of the drawers. If you don’t have oxalic acid, you may have a container of Barkeepers Friend. I have mixed that with water and used it to remove stains in wood. It worked well for me. Keep it up all that good work.

I never get tired of seeing furniture safe from the landfill. You did a fantastic job! I love the black with the wood tops. The difference is just phenomenal. In my area those nightstands would be snapped up in a heartbeat at the $375 price! I paid about $250 for two wooden nightstands that needed to totally be refinished. I thought I was lucky to get them! I don’t know why pairs of nightstands go so high. It certainly looks like you didn’t have to wait long for an interested customer. Great job!

One lady I follow places the nightstands with the backs facing together. That way you can save a step from taping or holding a piece of cardboard on the backside. You can use a water bottle with a fine mist on it, then using gel stain with the water it works as your prestain conditioner and you don't have to wait. I hope this helps you. Also, put a little paint in your top coat that will take over the cloudness of the top coat.

Citristrip will remove paint and stain and it is not toxic.

I loved the color with the stain. I was a little surprised that you didn’t cut the decorative base straight across to modernize it but it looked fine anyway.
