saw this in an almost empty theater back when it came out. when it was over, i asked for the manager. he shows up, nice guy, & i asked him, "if i wanna watch the very same movie in the very same seat right now, are you gonna charge me, do i have to pay again?" he gives me a stunned look & says, "nobody has ever asked that before, people just hide & try to sneak in, but it's usually for another movie, not the same one". so he tells me to go ahead, no prob. the second viewing is almost better. so, i bump into the manager on the way out, & tell him that i'll be recommending  this film to everyone, even strangers, & he gave me a two free passes, which i gifted. what a masterpiece.

Say what you want about Kevin Spacey. But this was cinematic genius. He played the Fruck outta that role.🎉

One of the best closing scenes ever!!

Keyser Soze spun a yarn. The music is heavy with string instruments as it finishes. Perfect.

9:37. Ladies & Gentlemen. EOM REACTS has been BROKEN!

When this came out I was 18, I considered myself a film buff/know it all. I didn't know much about this before watching. I watched it on a small tv/VHS combo set in my bedroom.  I did not put it together until he started walking normal. I literally jumped out of bed in disbelief while putting my hands on my head with my fingers through my hair. Been my favorite movie ever since.

EOM went so silent, even the dog thought something was wrong.

The dead giveaway occurs midway through the film.

Verbal presents with a disabled left hand, relying exclusively on his right to do anything requiring strength or dexterity (holding a gun, lighting/holding a cigarette, etc).  Keyser Söze is shown to be left-handed when he kills his family and the Hungarian mobsters, and in the present day when he murders Keaton.

During the ambush of Sol Berg, Verbal shoots Berg with a perfectly placed head shot, firing the gun left-handed.  At that point, he revealed that he wasn't truly disabled, or who he claimed to be.

Another clue occurred during the lineup scene.  Verbal's emphasis upon the word "me" (Give ME the keys) indicated that he was truly in charge.

If I spoke Turkish, I would have caught on to the importance of the name "Söze".  On a lark, I looked it up after I watched the film.  It means "babbling" and implies an intent to sow confusion or to misdirect.  The word Kaiser in German means "emperor".  Given Söze's heritage, his name literally means  "King Who Deceives by Talking".

The nickname "Verbal" is a cheeky hint at his true identity.

This remains, to this day, my favorite film of all time.

As a youngster, I saw this movie in the theater... i then went out, hid in the bathroom until the next showing and snuck back in to watch it again... I had to see it again knowing the secret... blew my mind...

I watched this movie and it still blows my mind to realize that Kevin Spacey’s character was Kaiser Soze.

This is the only time I didn't mind when a movie basically ended "and it was all a dream!" and practically nothing counts.  The story is told SO well that it doesn't even matter that the story probably never happened.

Kevin Spacey. is a hell off an actor.

Being able to forget who it is to find out again would be great.

What makes The Usual Suspects so great is that when you realize Verbal is Keyser Soze, and that the used the bulletin board to make up his whole story, you just have to wonder how much of what he told was true and how much was not.

Saw this in the theater. My parents dragged me. Turned out to be one of my top five movies. Whole theater reacted. 👏 Bravo!

This guy trying to work it out at the end is priceless

I watched this 20 years ago and still get goose bumps lol. The last dude's reaction was the best btw.

the stunned silence of the last dude

Leaving the theater my friends and I knew we had just watched one of the best movies we'd ever see.  Felt the same way after Good Will Hunting too although we went in blind on that one because the movie we wanted to see was sold out.

One of my favorite from the 90's.
