Michela is 23 years old and has two treasures: Camilla, 16 months old, and Luca, 3.
Two simply adorable children, her little angels, who follow her up to 1,450 meters above sea level at Malga Campo Rosà, in Rotzo on the Asiago Plateau, where they have managed the mountain pasture for 51 years.
Michela grew up in these mountains, accompanying her father Giuseppe in all the chores that this far from simple job requires: she tends the cows (they have 95 lactating cows), makes butter and cheese, and helps her father and uncle Mirco with the aging process.
In short, a true dairywoman, but one who doesn't improvise, because this work is in her blood, both on the mountain pasture and in the stable they have down in Valdastico. For her, the unusual have always been constant companions.
And her children are always with her. They follow her to the milking parlor (where Luca, in particular, sleeps in his egg in a sheltered corner) as well as in other various situations (Camilla, extremely curious, observes every gesture of mother Michela and uncle Mirco as they make Asiago cheese).
I asked her, inevitably, how difficult it was to reconcile the time spent at the mountain pasture with her mother's, and her answers were calm, practically predictable for her: "I don't mind working so much, nor does it scare me knowing I'll do it all my life. When you have passion, you have everything."
Absolutely right. But she knows she can also count on another winning element, namely her family, who helps her with the children.
