The Eagles don't really have a "lead" singer. They all sing lead on certain songs, some more than others. And it always sounds like them. Such a talented band

Randy Meissner's greatest performance. What a voice!

The inimitable voice of Randy Meisner. Love this song and enjoyed your reaction to it!

Randy Meisner was always terrified when they put this song on the set list because he was always afraid he would flub it, but he nailed it every time.

Hi ladies. I love your listening in silence. Absorbing it. How beautiful. I to love the Eagles.

The way they sway to the song, the lyrics and the emotion. Like going to church and hearing the gospel sung exactly how your soul needed to feel it

Yes, this is real... not like the computerized voices of most of today's so-called artists !

When I saw the Eagles in 1976, the crowd went nuts when Randy Meisner hit and held that high C. He got a standing ovation when the song ended. The crowd loved it so much that for an encore, the band played another song where he sang lead, "Midnight Flyer."

Nice reaction. This song was one of the reasons Randall Meisner, the lead singer on this, left the band. He didn't like being in the spotlight. Their constant touring was taking a toll on him & his family, not to mention his voice. There was a lot of friction & he was eventually replaced by bass player Timothy Schmit. (I Can't Tell You Why)
I was in the concert biz back in the day, production, and got work with this group a few times. After Joe Walsh went solo he showed up at a stadium show we were doing with The Eagles & brought his softball team with him, uniforms and all. Had to issue a bunch more backstage passes & it looked like a small sports team convention with them all hanging out at the catering area. Was always a pleasure. ;0)
