There seems to be an epidemic of self-righteousness.

Social media is one of those things that should be un-invented. Its given every coward & bully the perfect platform to attack anyone they like in complete safety.

Megan does a fantastic job at reminding us all that it is imperative to maintain reasonable dialogue, irrespective of the position taken by another.

The witch trials of jk Rowling is so well produced. Megan’s talent blew me away. She is a great interviewer and withholds bias, giving each side of the debate a chance

I love her soft spoken, well reasoned demeanor.

Megan is so articulate and reasonable.

Megan Phelps-Roper is literally one of my most favourite persons in the world 💛

Very well said.

Wow, Megan is looking good. Hopefully, one day she will re-connect with her family, and her mother, Shirley, will get to see the grandchildren.

Certainty doesn’t have to be an issue: I’m very confident that the sun will rise in the east early tomorrow morning. The trick is to know what level of confidence is reasonable in a given concrete situation.

I think social media may make things worse in some respects but political, religious or other forms of dogmatism, along with the accompanying cognitive biases, are not a new thing amongst humans.

Today's problems are inherited doppelgangers. Self-righteousness has always been with us. What's different now is the ability to project it around the world driven by corporate algorithms that monetize information and outrage. The lack of gate-keeping has been both a bane and a boon to free speech and society. Yet, many let corporations and "non-profits" that practice the very thing they claim to fight do their thinking for them. Critical thinking is a skill that does not occur naturally, it has to be developed. But it's not taught because a society that can think for itself and question agenda-driven mis-/disinformation being fed to it cannot be easily controlled. This comment section isn't big enough to truly delve into the complexities of this wrangled mess, and too many people barely read more than a sentence or two, if they make it past the misdirecting headlines. Outrage is so easy. Thinking it hard.

Heros folks.

Stop buying ads on social media and their incentive to drive engagement through rage and hate goes away.

It's like people can't imagine they are wrong and on the wrong side. It's insane. It's so strange that he thinks Megan is somewhat on his side or in agreement. It's like they can't imagine that the podcast is meant to wake them up.

yes it's "your"fault, but the medium makes it possible.

I still wonder if Megan, has ever apologized or given any of her money or time, to her victims? She was an adult, who stood outside of peoples funerals holding some of the most nasty and in humane signs, you could imagine. she has built a career off making other people suffer, kind of ironic, now she does that towards trans people.

Its disappointing Sister. You know in your heart your wrong. You can still be a woman, a mother and a lover without abandoning te truth. I hope you see the light because the hour is late and whats coming is not good.

We don't all have time to listen to all the stuff she did with Rowling. I wish she would just summarize what she said.

Don't know why I expected balance.
"never done anything hateful" sure.

It's simply called humility.
