About this video:
In this woodworking project, I build a simple side table from walnut and ash, combining two beautiful hardwoods into a clean, modern piece of custom furniture. This table includes a place to stash a laptop or book, a drawer and a lower shelf.
I’ll take you through the process of building this wooden side table from raw lumber to finished furniture, including milling the walnut and ash, cutting and assembling the components, and bringing everything together into a finished piece.
If you enjoy woodworking projects, furniture making, custom furniture, DIY woodworking, or simply watching someone turn rough lumber into a finished piece, this build is for you. Whether you're an experienced woodworker looking for ideas or someone who enjoys watching things being made, I hope you enjoy the process.
This is a relatively simple woodworking project, but like most furniture builds, there are plenty of opportunities to focus on craftsmanship, joinery, proportions, and the details that make handmade furniture special.
