Those announcers somehow sound like they’re watching the game outside in a tent during a windstorm

This is absolutely a My Career game with all the difficulty sliders down.

Dad: Yeah son I scored 70 pts in a game in college
Son: woooah that’s crazy you’re amazing, you must’ve won the game right?

37:34 It is an incredible indicator of the time period in which this game took place that the student commentator says "This is madness!" and then literally CANNOT STOP HIMSELF from tacking on "No, this is Sparta."

If I was that other guy I’d never shut up about scoring 70 in a college game

my dad went to grinnell, and when I was a kid and not that into basketball, he tried to explain this to me. It was not until today I understood exactly how much of an outlier they truly were. Thank you Mr kofie

investigate the time timofey mozgov scored 93 points and 29 rebounds next kofie.

7:48 He ain't lying though. They literally scour their schedule for games they can go for wild bonus objectives. This is not the kind of school that is going to sit Kobe when he has 60 after three quarters

I genuinely didn't clock that this was college until about half-way through the video because holy crap... this looks like junior varsity high school ball... and I went to a Lutheran high school. The way the team in black has to stop, prepare themselves, and then lay it up is COMICALLY terrible.

As soon as those announcers said they were going to intentionally foul to get more possessions I was like "Dude, they are just busting out the 2K stat pad cheese strats". This is what I have to do to complete those garbage my team challenges 😂

I'm really enjoying the "one of the games of all time" series

Legend has it Faith Baptist had two future Washington Generals on their team.

He was 52/108 shooting. HE SHOT 108 SHOTS

Jack Taylor would have another 100+ point game at Grinnell the following year in 2013, when he scored 109 in a 173-123 win over NCCAA school Crossroads College (MN), who ceased offering classes in 2016 and currently has an enrollment of just over 100 students.

Recently, Grinnell has also played in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament in both 2025 and 2026, having lost by 32 in the First Round this year to John Carroll.

The hilarious thing about grinnel is that they weren’t even that good, they are in the same conference as the college i went to and every time we would end up beating them by like 30, but the games were always insane

Paul Westhead also coached the 1991 Denver Nuggets. They averaged nearly 120 points per game, but that was purely based on pace of play. They were so bad defensively and played so fast that they surrendered over 130 ppg. They once surrendered 107 points in the first half of a game, 173 in tota, despite forcing over 25 turnovers and not surrendering even one three-point shot.

@bmangrem 3 weeks ago

craziest stat I saw was neither team had a guy with more than 5 assists, that's crazy cause 1 team had a guy score 138, other team had a guy score over 60

@gericjohnm.olivar9563 3 weeks ago

this is like in the Philippines, where an infamous pastor also scored 100+ points on a friendly match🤣

@poisonedivey 3 weeks ago

i fw the energy of the commentary so much, a not great webcam + bad mic just doing what they can for the love of the game, likely not getting paid anything
