Ali, you are among the elite teachers on YouTube, yes, teacher.

For close to thirty-five years, I was a public school teacher in New Jersey, USA. I know an excellent teacher when I see one. You, Ali, are outstanding. There are a few others in the AI area and photo-editing area who present YouTube videos I follow who are also great teachers.

For many years, I've enjoyed learning about tech trends, in photo-editing, as well as in managing my life, as a teacher, union organizer, political activist, and musician. Tech was almost always extremely helpful.  But I had to learn how to use and then implement the new stuff to fit my needs. I relied on people like you to help me learn.

AI development is overwhelming for someone like me. So much is happening so damn fast! Looking for helpful presenters, I stumbled upon one of your videos and thought, This is the guy to follow.

There is a presenter from Florida who talked so fast and was all over the place. I was like, No, this guy is in it only for the money. He replied to a comment that criticized him for talking so fast. The guy replied, paraphrasing, Well, I'm originally from NYC, and that's how we talk. Ali, I'm 20 minutes outside NYC and have friends from there. No, that's not how New Yorkers talk.  I almost puked at his comment. Obviously, I'll never watch one of his "let me sell as much as I can" videos.

I remember in one of your videos, you mentioned "scaffolding". Having never been in the corporate world, it was an unfamiliar term; yet it defined exactly what I always did as a teacher, organizer, and musician: start where the student/consumer/learner is at and lead them to more complex levels.

You had mentioned in an off-handed comment that you are in the corporate world. If you ever tire of the corporate life and can afford the inevitable reduction in salary 😄, consider teaching as a career. As frustrating as it occasionally is, you would be great!

I recently started experimenting with AI and started using Claude as my first pick, but after a few months of using it I feel like I've got a good understanding of how I actually use AI, and am looking around for alternatives. Claude is great, but it seems really focused on not just coding itself, but agentic coding specifically (at least the terminal version). That's fine but I use AI as a learning tool, and even despite have specific instructions telling it to never even suggest touching my files, and to just show me a code snippet example when relevant, it really wants to suggest making changes on my behalf lol. I don't even think this is a downside, this is probably what most people actually want it to do, but I also don't think it's a good fit for me.

Based on this video, I guess I should give chatgpt a try on the free tier for a bit, and see if it's a better fit here. Just gotta see how well it handles coding related questions, I guess, and how much it hallucinates nixos functions 😅 (claude likes hallucinating those from time to time)

Sound advise - not to switch too much often.
I realized that my AI is making progress in dedicated project chat by chat. This learns, I learn, wow.

Hallo, I subbed. I (62) have a classical guitar education a lot of rock experinence but stupid work took all my time and power away. Now I found AI as a great teacher and it works so far. All the time now but a loss of power and passion. Must say, AI is bringing it back. So I am looking for the best and cheap (er) AI model. Have a nice day Ali and you all
