sza was actually inspired by that album of Melanie, for her new album LANA. she even sampled melanie's song VOID in Scorsese baby daddy, and she was inspired to make herself a bug too because of melanie

listen to void and you will fly to heaven (trust)

THERE IS NO WAY YOU SAID SHE IS COPYING SZA!!!!! CRYBABY IS HER ORIGINAL CHARACTER SINCE 2014!!!

crybaby is the character she has been playing since her debut album (also called crybaby) in 2015, she has 3 albums which tell the story of the character growing up, and this song is the lead single from her most recent album “portals”, where crybaby died but was reborn as this fairy creature
if u ever listen to her albums its best to listen to them in order (crybaby -> k-12 -> portals) as otherwise it wont make sense

also her and sza are actually really good friends and sza took inspiration with the bug character from LANA and the song crybaby on her album from melanie and this fairy creature

she’s one of my fav singers so thx for reacting to her

i know it’s a struggle to try and get into the mix with melanie because of her aesthetic but TRUSTT once you react to one of her albums you’ll think highly of her she’s so talented !!

“Crybaby? She’s copying SZA”
Who’s gonna tell him…

I know that Melanie comes off as weird and kind of "devil"-ish at first, but you have to understand her backstory and how it led to her making the creature. Her art is very expressive which offers a much different feel from other artist's work.

The entire Mel fandom have been summoned here lmaoooo😭🤣

1:49 uhm actually so no one copied anyone, shes had an album called crybaby silly goose

I have never clicked on a video faster

Melanie and SZA are both very inspired by this Icelandic artist called Björk, she has some insane art and she also turns from a human to alien. Björk has been here for a really long time, she started from the 90s and she's still going.

Definitely recommend reacting to Crybaby Deluxe, K-12, AfterSchool EP and the album this song comes from PORTALS DELUXE. It is all a story and those 3 albums tell the story of Crybaby (Album from 2015) from Crybaby's childhood then K-12 (Album from 2019) from Crybaby's time in school and After School EP (EP from 2020) and then PORTALS (Album from 2023) is about the death of the character as Melanie wants to grow as an artist but also how Death is life and going through a Limbo like situation just to be reborn and go through the process again! IK THIS IS A LOT but just to give some context if you ever do react to her again!

There’s so much lore to this ( you should listen to her K12 album!!!)

u gotta listen in order lmfao

Melanie is back and human again, her new song possession is so good ❤

“ITS NOT CLOCKING TO YOU”

Listen I’m a huge Melanie fan but this man’s reaction had me dying of laughter I literally couldn’t stop laughing, this is definitely one of my favorite reactions😂😂(please do more)

Melanie’s songs are so good fr

MELANIEEEE MY MOTHER I LOVE HERRRRRRR
