For today's episode of "Dancers Reacts" we react to XG "Gala" Practice video.

Song:
XG"Gala"

XG "Gala" felt like a nonstop runway show from the beginning. There are poses, catwalks, levels, strong pictures, and formation changes that make the whole stage feel like a fashion runway. What really got us, though, was how much dance vocabulary they brought into that concept. Voguing is a major part of the choreography, but there's also house, breaking, and different textures layered throughout the number.

• We loved how committed they were to the runway idea. The posing, walking, turns, lines, and transitions all reinforce the same world instead of feeling like separate choreography ideas.

• The voguing elements were strong. The hands were extremely dynamic, and we got poses, duck walks, strong lines, and different pictures that made the style feel like an actual foundation of the number.

• The execution of the different styles really impressed us. It's hard to learn something like voguing or breaking through choreography and still capture the essence of the style, but XG looked much more comfortable in that vocabulary than we expected.

• The formations kept giving us something new to look at. There were diagonals, triangles, levels, ripples, V formations, and runway-style transitions that constantly created clean pictures.

• One of the biggest surprises was seeing breaking inside a routine that already leaned so heavily into voguing. That combination gave the performance another layer and kept the style changes from becoming predictable.

Even the rehearsal outfits helped sell the concept. They didn't feel like basic practice clothes. They looked connected to the fashionista, gala, runway world of the choreography, which made the entire practice feel even more intentional.
