Just wanted to add 2 things I’ve learned over many years cleaning toilets.
1. Before using any wet products or sprays, grab your favourite (now bathroom only) dusting cloth or tool. Use it to go over the top of the toilet tank lid, the seat lid and anywhere else you might see dust. In our house the “dust” is usually from toilet paper fibres that fly off the roll when it’s used…and it accumulates Fast! If the dust gets wet it’s a lot harder to remove it all.
2. Struggled to find a good toilet bowl cleaner for years. Until one day I got the brilliant idea to actually read the directions on the back. Turns out that you need to give the closed bottle of toilet bowl cleaner a really good shake before opening and using it. Have tried countless different brands (depends on what was in sale tbh) and on every bottle the first step on the directions is to give it a good shake. It’s like a day and night difference.
Hopefully this helps anyone who needs it. After having 3 kids, making us a family of 5, with only one toilet for a long time, I (unfortunately) know the dirty details of cleaning a toilet.

Here's a tip that I thought up myself and I like to share with you and your devoted audience:
I put in paper towel roll dispensers in all my bathrooms to go right next to, under/over the TP dispenser. The TP is for behinds, but pretty much never gets used to clean around the toilet. With my paper towel dispenser , I have a throw away paper towel right there next to the toilet. Instead of waiting for the once a week, or worse later (Bachelor pad, frat guy guys pad) , I have a disposable paper towel right there and can do a 20 second mini clean every day or every time.
What do you think about my invention? Do you want to patent it, we can go 50/50%. :-) Thanks Mrs M. Jaye Left behind in Chicago - lots of dirt, not many nice bridal prospects.
I've never had bad staining, but I have always been able to remove it with bar keepers friend powder, rather than using a pumice stone.
